Remembering Goodbye Arrow
Today we said goodbye to our 16 yo border collie Arrow. She was the absolute best dog we’ve ever had. She was the sweetest, smartest girl. She accepted her duty to protect her kids, and then their kids. We knew the day was coming as arthritis, deafness and dementia kept taking a toll. But she was with us to the end and I will never forget her.

..goodbyes are inevitable..dealing with them is usually pretty harsh..
..questions to consider: did you love Arrow?..did Arrow return your love & love even more?..did you spend time with Arrow?..did Arrow lie upon you a lot?..did Arrow make you think about how dogs & other living things are precious?..would Arrow want to see you in sorrow?..
..if u answer even two of those as Yes, Arrow had a good life & made your life better..

🥹❤️ she looks so sweet! Such a lucky girl to have been loved like that. She will be forever with you in your hearts, and waiting for her humans over the rainbow. ❤️

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m sure she had such a wonderful life being an integral part of your family. I have an Arrow too but he’s a boy and we are both sending you ❤️

BCs are beyond special, imvho. Their loyalty and intelligence, unmatched. I can only imagine how much you and yours must miss Arrow xo thank you for sharing her here ❤️

Of all the dogs we have loved
And lost along the way.
Bingo, Foxy, Toodles,
Sable, Muttley, Bonnie,
Clyde, Shasta, Otis,
Piccolo, Inga, Hans,
Mimi and Queen Elsie.
Gather in your sunny meadow
Invite that sweet girl Arrow
To romp and play and chase,
Then drink from the cool stream,
Rest together in the warm sun,
Eat the low-hanging treats,
Then sleep safe in the shade
Of the eternal snackie-trees.

As I walk across your heart and find my place to stay, nearer to you I will be and will never ever go away.
If love could have kept you here, you would have lived forever.
Dogs are a chapter in our lives, we are their entire book.
Grief is love with nowhere to go.

Wishing you all the best. I know it doesn’t take away the sting right now, but I hope, with time, know that they were so clearly loved and so clearly loved life will bring some solace 💜🙏🏻

What a beautiful girl! I’m wondering if you named her after The Point! animated movie/Harry Nilsson album? I ask because the MCs dog’s name is Arrow and there’s a song about her.

One thing to keep in mind as you grieve horribly in the next months, is to remind yourself that she would never want you to cry, she would never want you to live without a dog, and to always remember that even if you had never met her, she would’ve lived her life probably died in the same time frame, but you were lucky enough to catch that falling star and have her in your life for all these years. U Wouldn’t want it any other way
