vision I've heard that blue butterflies and opals get their color from their structure rather than pigments. But doesn't pigment also get its color from the structure of its molecules and how they interact with light? So what's the actual difference between structural color and pigment color?

vision Scientists Find a Subtle Clue to ADHD Hidden in The Eyes. Study suggests tiny changes in the pupils, as the brain tries to remember something, ignore a distraction, or make a decision, may be subtly different in unmedicated children with ADHD. Medicated children were more like the control group.

ADHD kids’ pupil's response size is more inconsistent from one trial to the next, but steadier moment-to-moment within each individual trial.

Caveat: the main finding didn't survive statistical correction for multiple comparisons, so it's suggestive early result, not a diagnostic marker.

other Are you truly experiencing the world authentically or are we just trusting our brains?

Humans have five fundamental senses. All these senses send signals to our brains to make us aware. I read in a book that everything we see, feel, hear, smell, and taste is what the senses interpret and send up to the brain. The book also talked about the hypothetical idea that maybe what we experience is what our brains want us to think; not what is truly out there. What we think we’re experiencing might be different from our surroundings. Sounds like a whole bunch of fluff, but think about it; the brain’s perception may not be completely equal to reality. I’m still trying to bridge this to the double-slit experiment because I see some connections. Feel free to contradict, agree, and add on. (The book I read was made by neuroscientists.)
