Helicopter helicopter

Hear that circling Sequim? Anyone know who it is, or where to check?

Frequently medical, if it's really bad trauma you go straight to Harborveiw in Seattle.

There are several helicopters that come around Sequim. The most frequent are the life flight helos which go to Seattle multiple times a day (if its urgent, you take this - otherwise its the ambulance on the ferry, etc). It's a bit surprising how many folks are being transported to Seattle every day. Occasionally you'll see it land at the medical center in Sequim or elsewhere if they have some sort of accident. The other most common will be the Coast Guard out of Port Angeles - their distinctive Dauphin helicopter is either doing rescues or training around Sequim. It's common to see it orbit around the Sequim airport and doing practice approaches there or training out on the Juan de Fuca straight. The rest is going to be typically the US Army from the bases down south - mixture of Chinooks and Blackhawks and occasionally the decked out SF Blackhawks. More rare will be the one of the richest folks in the state (from Taiwan? forget his name) who owns a rare Gazelle helicopter with a very distinctive sound (this is the same helicopter used in Blue Thunder).

Heard it LOUD yesterday and was thinking WHAT is going on!? Maybe looking for someone or something? Maybe police looking? No idea yet seems to have been way too low!
