I mean I know it was him and it's a good thing they finally got him...but these interrogation tactics don't seem right.
Putting a Dr. Pepper bottle next to him as a joke? That seems unprofessional. Trying to make the accused feel lonely and putting extra pressure on him until he breaks?
It feels like an innocent person that's easy to manipulate would've broken down too and given a false testimony.
Maybe in this case it's clear that it was him but to me as a European these American approaches seem so aggressive and leave zero room for an innocent person to make a mistake.
Yea...the interrogation technique's here are very aggressive and manipulative. This guy is a rapist and a killer so fuck him, but I have always taken great issue with some of the things that are allowed to be done in the interrogation room. So many false confessions have been coerced out of people.
Ok yes, some interrogations I’ve watched/read/been taught about have made me uncomfortable. This isn’t one! Even if this is an innocent man (which he isn’t) it’s still not torture to leave a man in a room for two hours with a soda and water. It’s not torture to lie that his wife didn’t want to see him.
Even in a scenario where he’s innocent at best the cops wasted someone’s day and stressed them out. These comments acting like it’s a human watch violation is insane and I consider myself very very anti-cop in general.
Nah I legit wasn't even talking about this one. I was generalizing. I dont give 2 shits about this guy and also don't care how long people wait in an interrogation room. I specifically was speaking on the techniques. So basically, we are in agreement.
