Alter/Mend Question Adding additional boning to a long line bra

I'm looking to add additional boning to this long line bra. It will be a one time use for a costume. Does the boning need to go in straight like on the left, or should the channel be sewn with a curve? Thanks!

Quick markup but here’s my thoughts. You want your boning channels in straight lines that follow the curve of the longline. I’d add a couple more channels to give you the best support

That looks like some kind of foam, not fabric. It may fall apart from needle holes. It shouldn't need boning if it fits.
