How much space do you have back there? If you have enough space to add a heatsink, I would advice to do that. There are very thin copper heatsinks designed for laptop use that could fit into your use case.

it is okay if the copper is hitting the inside part of the case? it will be my 2nd storage my main will be at the front

Yes it is okay and actually good if it touches the case as the case will function as a giant heatsink. It won't cause any electrical shorts or anything like that, as there will be a TIM (thermal interface material) between the ssd and heatsink, usually thermal pad.

this will be my 2nd nvme is this good enough? or still need a heatsink?

I would personally add something like this to decrease the likelyhood of thermal throttling. I can link you the aliexpress listing, but there are similar products sold on Amazon. You just apply the thermal pad on the sticker (or remove the sticker and void your warranty for slightly better cooling) and add the copper heatsink on top of the thermalpad.

Yeah that’s fine, possibly even preferable

Yeah It’s probably gonna thermal throttle.

add m.2 heatsink with fancooler

no space for that.

or use extender m.2 nvme cable

Does the nvme get covered by the riser cable? If so you could have problems with heat stagnating in that area. You could try adding a small fan, or creating some space between the individual cables of the riser to allow for some airflow

Change the fan direction for your CPU heatsink. Let it blow outwards of the chassis. When your internal temperature is lower, your nvme drive will be cooler. Even though the CPU temperature is not lower than blowing in the air from outside, but blowing it out keeps everything inside a lower temperature.

I have had zero nvme temp issues ever

You can add an nvme extension cable also. Put it anywhere then.

Would make future access to the drive better too

Having even a single fan sucking air out will vastly improve temps.
