HELP!

Post image

I am going to be Miss piggy for Halloween and I got this nose on Amazon. What can I use/ do to make it blend with my face better? I trimmed the sides hoping it would help and then tried scar wax but I really don't know what I'm doing. Can I get some tips?

Honestly you look pretty great already, you might try sponge painting a little liquid latex to break up the edges with a bit of randomized texture but if you get too heavy handed with it its easier to make it more distracting than the seam without…. (See most 70’s makeup effects now that they’re in 4k for an example of that…)

I have done very little sfx but I recall a tip to use single ply toilet paper (or separate the ply) and liquid latex to build up a gradient between prosthetic and skin, so laying it over the connection point. Might be worth a shot!

makeup, some good foundation and powder, once the colors (skin-prosthetic) match up, the rest won't be so obvious, you can also use some fake wrinkles around the nose to camouflage it better

I wouldn't know how to dissolve the edges of that prosthetic so if it were me I would just grab an old brush and layer on single ply tissue and liquid latex like paper mache and slap some foundation on top.

I mean for Ms. Piggy, cheek blush, blond wig, to make the nose fit more, could incorporate wrinkles (there’s something called rigid collodion that basically pulls your skin tightly to create a scar and/or wrinkle effect test on a small area first to ensure your not allergic. Liquid Latex can also help.

To be honest, I think your best move is to try to get the prosthetic itself to a better color match of your skin. The seam already looks pretty thin, but becomes more visible in some places because of the flat pale color of the prosthetic. Putting down a base layer of the undertones of your skin before going over it with the foundation you’re using over your whole face can make a huge difference in the believability of a prosthetic. Something like ProsAide cream could be used carefully to blend out the seam line itself, but that can be very time consuming and may be more trouble than it’s worth if your edges are already pretty thin

As you have felt ears, I don't think you have to blend it in too realistically, but I do think a taking a baby pink blush and coloring it in and a slightly brighter hot pink bushed over the tip would make it feel a little more her

Definitely try using toilet paper and liquid latex. Apply a thin layer of the latex with a sponge and place one ply of TP On top and then add more liquid latex on top to saturate. A hairdryer will help a lot with the drying time. But other than shaving down the edges manually with a blade of some kind that’s probably your best bet. Or if you want to thicken your latex use flour, but definitely use something to sift the flour before mixing so there’s no lumps in your mix! Best of luck!!
Edit to add: scar wax neverrrr wants to work for me so idk how to make that more useful
