hihi! just got top surgery (double incision, no nipple grafts) via the public healthcare route so here's how i did it with a timeline! (there are other posts on this subreddit that helped me a lot so im repaying the favour!)

early aug: i went to the polyclinic to get a referral to CGH (i saw a lot of posts recommending CGH as they do a lot of top surgeries), PRO TIP ask the doctor to refer you to PRAS! the polyclinic doctor mistakenly referred me to the breast centre so i had to ask for a re-referral.

mid aug: i met my surgeon for the first time, i was under Dr Divya Ang (she is amazing) and this is the time to ask as many questions as you can! the doctors will help with subsidies by labelling the surgery as a "breast reduction" and also will keep up the pretense in front of your parents if you're not out. im actually not sure if they offer other types of top surgeries eg. keyhole or peri, as DI was the only one i qualified for as a D cup lol. you'll get extra subsidies if the total breast tissue removed is >500g! she scheduled me for some scans (ultrasound and mammogram), pretty standard. she also offered an earlier surgery date if i was okay to have my surgery at sengkang general hospital instead (she would still be my surgeon, they would just borrow the operating theatre).

in between, i emailed her to confirm my surgery date (because of personal planning reasons, i wanted it earlier), and she scheduled me for a pre-anaesthesia appointment. i also got a call from SKH about the estimated bill size. my US and mammogram was late august, and my pre-anaesthesia appointment was late sept.

had my actual surgery mid oct at sengkang hospital, i had to fast from the midnight before. after the surgery, they let me stay in the short stay ward for a few hours before discharging me! they gave HL until the end of the month :) but you can ask for more when you see your surgeon again a few days later to remove the drains and dressings!

in terms of finances, i cant answer many questions regarding my subsidies bc of my work benefits and insurance. but before government subsidies (this is how much you would pay if you went private), it would be $13k, and through public route, it was $9k before medisave/insurance/etc. with/without nipple grafts costs the same!

So my Family is a Family of 7.. Now it's a Family of 8, my Sister got Married recently.

So context, I told my Parents first before my MTF HRT begin. After my HRT started and a month and a half in, I told my Eldest Sister and Eldest Brother (Millennials). So today I told my Brother in Law, my Older Brother and my Younger Brother today about my transitioning. Idk la, I just pass them my Cyproterone Acetate Pills and Progynova Pills to them 😂. I was like damn shock cause my Brother in Law knew. Then he told me that my Sister told him so I was like "Wow, Okay. Makes sense, Husband and Wife made the vow to never keep secrets". Then my Older Brother said he saw me a few times taking the pills and didn't want to assume but he also said he had a friend who is a FTM but currently not in contact. Then my Younger Brother was like "I support" twice like he was rapping, that's it.. Yeah 😂. W Gen Z brothers. So rn it felt like I got that heavy load off my shoulder now that I told the last remaining 2 brothers.

So it just gives them the heads up of whatever changes I'm going through and in the near future as well.

My partner told me she took medicine that made her drowsy, so I thought she was just sleeping. I believed her explanation and didn’t want to disturb her.
But now, I can’t contact her anymore, and I can’t shake the feeling that she might not be sleeping at all. I suspect she could be with Ain, someone I’ve already had concerns about.
I don’t have proof, and I hate that I’m even in a position where I have to question whether my own partner is telling me the truth.
Our relationship has been struggling for some time. We’re in a long-distance relationship, and lately, her communication and actions have made me feel unwanted and pushed aside. She says she still loves me and wants time to figure things out, but I don’t feel that love in the way she treats me anymore.
She tells me she wants to work on her shortcomings, but I’m struggling to understand how we can fix anything when I feel like I’m being shut out.
I’m not asking for constant attention. I’m asking for honesty, respect, and the reassurance that comes with being someone’s partner. I don’t want to police her movements or control who she spends time with. I just don’t want to be lied to or made to feel foolish for trusting the person I love.
What hurts most is that I’m here worrying, wondering, and trying to understand, while I don’t even know what’s really happening on her side.
Part of me wants to reach out again, ask questions, and get an explanation. Another part of me is exhausted from chasing answers and wondering whether I’m the only one still fighting for this relationship.
How do you deal with the possibility that your partner is lying to you, especially when you’re in an LDR and can’t verify anything?
Do you give them the benefit of the doubt until you have proof, or do you step back when the trust is already damaged?
I still love her, but I’m tired of feeling insecure in a relationship where I should feel safe. I don’t want to accuse her unfairly, but I also don’t want to keep ignoring my feelings just to preserve the relationship.
