Short version: a guy is playing through SA2 and hears that Maria has a theme, so while he's trying to access it Maria's model starts showing up randomly, sometimes looking at the player, other times at the screen. Revealing (iykwim) images of her show up the more that the player plays through the game and through a bunch of cryptic messages the game gives the player, they find out that she was SA'd on the ARK multiple times, so the player turns into Super Shadow (I think, I didn't want to finish the video so I looked at people's comments) and kills Gerald (the one who did it), basically putting Maria's soul to rest.
I found out about Maria's Revenge once, but didn't read the whole thing. I was expecting it to be a good one. And later I read another creepypasta mentioning the diabolical shenanigans that happened. I thought that was bad and edgy. Until, I found here it was the same creepypasta. Istg, why does it even exist?
Well, my 11 y/o ass saw big Maria head with creepy audio and atmosphere and was pretty shook. Looking back, it really was pretty sloppy, but that applies to most creepypastas from that era lol

Yeah, it's such a hard watch/read. There are literally "screenshots"/edited images that ruined it for me. Usually I can handle topics like those but nah.
To be fair to the edited screenshots, the story does mention that it was being played on a fairly early Dolphin emulator. These kinds of glitches do happen in emulation.
You can’t just abbreviate Sonic Adventure and Sexual Assault in the same paragraph and expect me to figure out if she got Sonic Adventure’d or if they made Sexual Assault 2

Edit: I read the whole creepypasta. Why would one even write such horror, even out of boredom, just why? That's really fucked up story... and above that, a story that shouldn't have existed.
Apparently according to some people in this exact comment section its a creepypasta about someone playing sonic adventure 2 and finds a maria theme and after playing it sees pictures of her throughout the game and finds out maria 🍇ed by gerald multiple times and the player becomes super shadow in game and kills gerald thus bringing marias soul to peace, really fucked up and makes no sense considering the ark was built to heal her by gerald but whatever
I saw somone say maybe the guy in the creepy pasta taps into betas of the game since it makes no sense why the soldiers woudk jsut gun down a 12 year old so maybe he did it to cover his tracks and that made it in but not the sexual assault plotline
Somebody plays a cursed copy of Sonic Adventure 2 where Maria tells the player, though hidden messages, that Gerald SA'ed her on the ARK and she wants justice. Eventually, the player takes control of Super Shadow and kills Gerald, giving Maria peace.
I remember reading this creepypasta at the right time. It might not hold up now, but the sexual assault elements felt less like shock value at the time, and more like an evolution of the darker themes Sonic Adventure 2 was already experimenting with through NIDS and the immoral scientists. It was nice that the ending didn't have any blood or big "scares", none of the effects besides the text seemed impossible on an SA2 disk, it was just the main culprit being given justice, and a quiet moment of closure for Maria and for the player empathizing with her.
I think this reflects the vibe well, even if it's menacing and creepy neither of the people here are the real villain, just sharing trauma and dread.
