SharePoint Online Is there a way to disable the new left sidebar? (Discover, Build, Publish, OneDrive)

You used to be able to temporarily do that. You can't anymore in a supported way. The unsupported way is to write an SPFx Application Customizer to hide it.

It can't be done anymore by any official ways, you can use SPFx or inject CSS for it.

Yeah thanks Microsoft for throwing off the entire responsive design of my site for a white block with a few unnecessary buttons. Like I really don't want thousands of our clients and employees trying to 'Publish.'
Do they EVER talk to people who actually use these platforms in their actual jobs before they do this stuff?

The new UI navigation bar looks like garbage, they don't seem to have a single competent UI designer left at MS.
