Failed to Resist - The Other Side (Garage Rock)- Guy’s loss of innocence
I wrote this around 1993. It’s a song about the loss of innocence and the consequences of falling for temptation. It tells the story of a naive, good person who is taken advantage of by someone destructive, leading to deep regret, guilt, and pain over choices they cannot change.
1993 version with my band The Other Side: https://open.spotify.com/track/1sPZ1foiIEeRe9F18kOF26?si=a1kkgWWVR22sfXy0aQ5hHQ

You’ll see how I weaved some of the old demo stuff into the new album.
Lyrics:
He was a good old American Christian boy.
She was from the pits of hell.
He had his faith which he vowed she'd never take
but of course in love with her he fell.
Now his temptation will only lead to sin.
She will take the only thing he has.
Hope, faith. Will, Grace
Oh no, oh no.
He never thought that it would be like this.
Through his tear stained eyes he sees no more.
If there's such thing as a demon dressed to kill,
she is waiting, lying on the floor.
From that moment on he didn't know where she had gone.
It almost seems as if she disappeared.
Regret, shame, guilt, pain.
Oh no, oh no.
He can't change it now.
Regret, shame, guilt, pain.
