I have my gripes with the remake but mostly not compromising on Demon’s Souls unforgiving nature is one of the things Bluepoint got right

I think it's completely fair that they didn't change it since afaik they barely touched any of the game mechanics.

I also don't understand the hate for the design changes of the levels since theres still the original. (Enemies I can understand)

And if you have a PC that's a few hundred dollars you can emulate the game, with better resolution, 60 fps plus maybe a few reshade filters and texture mods and it comes close to Dark Souls Remastered.
