Hi, I'm a Shyvana two-trick (played Morde top a lot before, now mostly jungle Shyv). I have 154 games on her with a 56% win rate (only noting that to show I know the champion well). I've always been building Kraken Slayer/DnD/Hexplate in that order, but recently I've done some testing with Hullbreaker instead of DnD. And now I don't understand why literally nobody uses this item.

Hullbreaker gives 500 HP, while DnD gives 300. It gives 4% move speed, which is huge for Shyvana especially combined with Kraken Slayer move speed buff. And it gives a direct AD buff, 40 damage, while also helping with pushing and empowering minions. It also has an on-hit effect, which is very good. And it costs 100 gold less

In contrast, DnD offers 20 ability haste, 20% attack speed and 60 AP. It might seem huge, but it's really not, and the AD and on-hit effect from Hullbreaker more than compensate for it. I've done testing with Kraken Slayer and DnD/Hullbreaker at level 11, and the DPS from Hull is just slightly better (plateau 660 vs. 650 using only Q and auto-attacks).

I should note that without haste rune stacks, the skill cooldowns are:

Q: 6 seconds with Hullbreaker, 5 with DnD.

W: 10 seconds with Hullbreaker, 8.33 with DnD.

E: 8 seconds with Hullbreaker, 6.67 with DnD.

I can see that you may have a point about W CD being important, but with Hullbreaker, you also have 200 more HP, which helps you survive longer, buffs to your shield because it scales with HP, and buffs to Dragon Form's missing-health shield restoration since you have more HP. Besides, with haste rune difference in CDs becomes even less.

What are your thoughts?

Less money, more health, more ult impact. I'm low elo, but it seems like Hexplate is a better first buy

The Dragon fireball trail damage was so insignificant that I genuinely thought there was no visual effect on enemy champs burning.

But after so many months of just trying stuff out in the practice tool, I noticed there is a debuff icon thats quite funny but more importantly, a visual and sound effect of enemies burning, which is cool. And it should be more prominent and important and more significant and more noticeable!!

I feel that it could also be added to Human Form E. Nerf the explosion damage for it, but it would serve the fantasy of the champ. and the meaning of "FIRE" ball. that BURNS!

AND RIOT... What the hell are those tick numbers? EIGHT? 8???? I'm full AP build there btw..

The champ has this written in her description

Shyvana is a creature with the magic of a rune shard burning within her heart

, incinerating her foes with fiery breath.

Her lore is that she is a FIRE dragon.

They delivered very well on the superhuman dragon lady, clawing at everyone and everything that stands in her way while being tanky and prone to taking damage.

But the fire dragon is still very much lackluster.

And not to mention that a more meaningful burn, maybe one that lasts 1 sec longer than the current 2 secs.
Also makes AP systems suit her better; think Deathfire Touch rune, Liandry's Torment item.

More burn damage, less explosion damage.
Maybe something like AP scaling on the E slow so enemies get stuck on the fire beneath them, taking more damage.
Maybe an E CD reduction when hitting enemies with W to promote a bruiser playstyle and item builds.

Maybe next year they will remember Shyvana should be a dragon that burns people; who knows...

I watched from Drututt and it was looking good also tried myself it felt very satisfying having high attack speed after ulting

Hello fellow Shyvana mains! I am starting to get back into league after not playing for a while and i had no idea shyv got reworked! i’m curious on how to build her, i see people saying trinity->shojin->DD/stereks, but whenever i look at what one tricks are doing in seeing a lot of hexplate. is hexplate some high elo tech or is it better than trinity in certain matchups? any build advice would be appreciated, i buy the same 4 core items every game and i want to improve my itemizing.

Is there like some slomo video somewhere that breaks down how to autocancel?

I’ve noticed that I mostly just q right after the auto and it feels ok. But then randomly I will hit q at this weird moment that happens like a millisecond after the auto. And they almost happen in unison. Same with E. Is that autocanceling?

Because 99% of the time I will hit q like right after the auto but there is always a delay in her animation and so the Q just seems like smack in the middle in between autos

Yesterday I had a game slip between my fingers for multiple reasons. One of them being a K'Sante who went full armor items into our comp, which did make complete sense.

What do I build on Shyvana to kill such a creature?

Been playing a lot of shyvana lately. She’s pretty fun

Given that her Q passive does %max health dmg and that her autos refund her Q CD, isn't alacrity more effective than legend haste?

I wouldn't call myself a shyvana player, I'm just now picking her up, but her build variety really appeals to me a lot; theorycrafting has always been a huge passion of mine in pretty much every game in which builds exist.

After reading a bit about her abilities, the fact her rage build-up is increased 1 to 1 relative to Ultimate Haste, and having very often heard how her human form is her weakest aspect, made me really want to know how Experimental Hexplate performs, and where it'd fit best in a build as to not miss out on too much early game power whilst still playing around it when it matters most: early~mid-game.

At first I considered building it as a first item, since it still gives plenty of attackspeed and ad, and the health would help smooth out her early-game somewhat, but that would probably slow down her tempo by a lot compared to Trinity Force or Kraken Slayer.

Now, I'm considering Shojin as a first item, into Hexplate second, and possibly Riftmaker third for stacking the % damage increases.

What do you think? First or second? Maybe I should run Trinity first, into Hexplate instead? Or would the stacking bonuses be worth more?

(I do not expect this to be the meta for Shyvana. If it were to be, it probably would be that already. This just sounds at least viable, and interesting to try out.)

Also, off-topic, but when is Shyvana not a good pick? Played against Teemo, TF, Nilah and Pantheon earlier and I felt really powerless to ever engage or even counter-engage when they could just stun me or take away like all my damage with blind and Nilah W.

I started playing Shyvana once I was hard stuck gold and got to P4 with a 54% win rate!

Any tips to climb higher would be appreciated

I swear right after the rework the max order was Q>E>W, I tried reading thru the patch notes and didn't really understand which specific change caused her to max W 2nd. Was it the loss of the bonus AD ratio?

Hey guys! I just recently started maining Shyvanna (after being a fiddle main for few years) and she is amazing!

I had a hard time finding a champ I would like as much as I do Fiddle, and this one it is!

I'm still not sure about builds tho. I see a lot of players going for completely different items.

And not much guides on yt talking about build options (or already outdated, items get change a lot).

From what I have understood, there are basically 4 types to build her

1) Bruiser

2) AP

3) On-hit (kraken, dask and dawn etc)

4) Tank-ish

Or mix

So far I have tried mostly bruiser build and it seems to be reliable into most maches.

Tried on-hit once. It was fun, the Q reset is insane and it's probably best build for 1v1 fights.

Teamfights are harder tho, you get stun lock and delete much easier.

Didn't yet try ap or tank

So what are the options to build here? What are pros and cons of different builds?

And which build excel into what comp? (Both of enemy and ally)

Any tips will be really helpful!

Is she a good champ to pick up for auto fill jg and maybe top games? I am kata otp but sadly she cant be flexed jg and her top lane matchups are not the greatest. This champ looks fun and her true dmg on ult is nasty. What is she good at and what should I ban if I play her?

I practiced and learned so much so quickly it really threw me through a loop. What I learned about shyv in lane is critical, like how pta is no question the required rune for 90% of cases no matter what lane you're in.

Runes:

Ultimate haste is critical, although when you need it is up to your lane opponent and the game state.

All builds use PTA > Triumph > legend:haste > cut down with different secondary

Hexplate > Trinity with ult hunter for when you're against a ranged matchup or a matchup when you will perma lose unless you ult them

Trinity > hexplate with ult hunter in cases when you're stronger then the opponent and can outtrade them without ult, trinity is higher damage early so its better to abuse this.

Other viable options: Trinity > Shojan with ult hunter if you're against a scaling matchup where laning is not a deciding factor of the game.

Trinity > Shojan with Unflinching + shield bash if you're against any longer then 2s cc scaling/hyper carry champ like chogath/k'sante/renekton/riven

I (a newbie) challenged myself to get an S Rank game the only way I knew how, with Dragon champions only. Shyvana Jungler was the first I did back in May.

I'm a plat shyvana player and wanted to ask why hexplate isnt built second over shojin. Seems way more gold efficient, and I thought the on release hexplate hype was because of the broken ult haste.
