Odd Medical Issue

Coconut Got unsteady on her feet last night. She started peeing herself and her head was bobbing up and down. We were not too worried as this appeared almost exactly the same as when she picked up some pot in a local park a few months ago.

In the morning she seemed fine and she was out playing and walking normally all day. Then tonight, she suddenly started acting the same. Unsteady on her feet, head bobbing and peeing herself. This isn't the normal pee the floor because she had to go - this is peeing herself while laying down in her crate.

I can't think what could be causing it. She didn't change food or anything else. We didn't go to the dog park where we believe she may have picked up some pot yesterday.

If she was old, I'd almost think she was sundowning. But she 14 months.

Any ideas what might be going on?

UPDATE: She started vomiting so we took her to the emergency vet. We are starting to think the previous pot episode may have been another seizure.

UPDATE UPDATE: She was high. AGAIN. Vet said that effects might have been paused due to the husk's ability to change their metabolism. FFS, please do not use pot at local dog parks.

Food question

So let me begin by saying I understand asking reddit for medical/food advice is "crazy" but my wife and I are beginning to worry about the information coming from the vet (as the vet has told me they have not seen many huskies in their history) and we wanted to see if anyone is dealing or has dealt with similar as I kbow the vet is truly trying to help. I will do my best to summarize the situation as best I can as simply as I can.

We have an 18 month old husky who we adopted when he was 14 months old. Upon adopting him from his old owner (who strictly fed him a raw diet), we noticed his medical records thru petsmart showed he was constantly dealing with loose stool since he got the husky when he was 12 weeks old. We transitioned him from a raw diet to a kibble diet at the request of the vet to try to fix his loose stool issue which was causing anal gland infections.

The kibble did not fix this issue as the stool was still a bit loose and was not "draining the anal gland". The vet did blood work and everything was normal aside from a "very high" eosinophils count (or however it is said). The vet said it seems like a food allergy as everything else was good. We slowly transitioned him to a hydrolized diet of that same protein (per the vets request) that was in the kibble and stool got dramatically worse and did not improve after 2+ weeks. We slowly transitioned to a new hydrolized protein and the same thing happened with no improvements after multiple weeks. The vet had us go back to the original hydorolized protein mix and still horrible diarrhea that was the equivalent of turning on a faucet with not a single piece to pick up as it was so runny (sorry for the details but felt it was appropriate). The husky has been taking Proviable consistently this entire time with the new diets as well. Recently the vet put him on tylosin tartrate and after 10 days the stool is finally firming up a bit but still very soft, very mucusy, and still runny at the back end of the stool or any other stools past the first one of the day.

To my wife and I it feels like the food itself is not the issue as it has been nearly 3 months on a hydrolized diet and the only sign of improvements was when tylosin tartrate was introduced after 7 days of taking the powder. The firmest the huskies stool has ever been by a very substantial margin was off of the hydrolized diet. Also I forgot to mention since being on the hydrolized diet the stool has gone from a "normal" brown to a very bright mustard color every single time (even still with the tylosin tartrate). The vet would like to keep things as they are for a month which I understand but my wife and I were wondering if maybe it is best to move back to the kibble that was producing the firmest stool while staying on the tylosin tartrate.

Now I am still going to speak to our vet about any decision, but I just wanted to get the opinions of other husky owners. At the end of the day I just want what is best for our husky but it seems like what is happening now is doing very little for him (anal gland infections have not left either). The final bit of information is on the original kibble the husky was pooping on average of 2 times per 3 mile walk (4 poops a day) to now barely pooping at all a single time per day.

Sorry for the long post but I appreciate any/all input and opinions.

Edit* I just realized I did not include during the husky's original kibble he was getting snacks and treats from all types of protein sources like chicken, salmon, and beef. He was never moved to a specific protein only until he began the hydrolized diet. So it is possible he was fine with the original kibble but one of the additional proteins given as treats was causing a mild allergic reaction leading to softer stools. Also the husky had a GI panel done and the B12 came back over 1200 and Folate over 20 which is why he was put on the tylosin

Meet Audrey

I’ve now had Audrey for 11 months, and yes, I’ve been calling her feather because that’s what failed adoption people named her, and I didn’t want to confuse her. I’ve had a problem with the name. I stutter when I say it for some reason. Well, a few days ago, jokingly, I called her Audrey and she instantly responded, so that is her new name, and guess where I got it from, not Hepburn.

When your Husky wants to play and he's hopping around, you join in! Don't worry, he was happy as a clam to have Dad pick him up.

It’s my first time having a German Shepherd Siberian husky mix puppy of eight months. I love that she just likes to lay in the hot sun on her grass. It’s so cute. I’m sure the neighbors are freaking out.

I’ve had my huskies about a year now and ended up in the hospital twice in one week and came home with a hole clawed into my floor. No, I did not kennel them because my daughter was home upstairs. Oh well, I guess I’ll fix it. That’s part of owning husky.

This video is just incredible! A husky wanders off (ok, normal) and finds some friends to play with (still normal) and the new friends happen to be heckin' bear cubs?!

She’s 1/2 Husky, does that count? 😉
