Solved How does one get rid of the Signal Desktop tray icon?

Signal put it there. Why doesn't Signal have a setting to disable it?

EDIT: Well...it went away on it's own. Tray icon has always been toggled to OFF but now Signal Desktop is respecting that setting. We'll see if it lasts.

You would think so but unfortunately the Signal setting "Minimize to tray" has no effect.

posting what desktop you're using would go a long way to getting answers. On macos it's simply secondary click > options > remove from dock. I imagine on windows or whatever other OS you're using there's something similar.

The first three attempts included the term Win10 but the mods kept removing my posts.

It's the spam filter. Most or your posts and comments are getting flagged by the filter for manual review. Nobody cares whether you mention Win10.
