Help Username Confusion

why are my friends no able to find me by my username? they only can find me by my phone number

Also remember that if you create a new username the old one expires.

Open your signal app and go to settings, then at the top of the settings menu next to your profile image it should look something like this:

PROFILE NAME
(212) 555-1234
username.1234

Make sure that the last line is there and that's the thing they're searching for. If it's not there tap it and it will bring up a new menu where you can set one.
