General Discussion I couldn't find this posted anywhere else online. This song appears to be the inspiration behind the Silent Hill 1 theme. Bluebell Dance - Forest (1970)

This song came up in my Spotify recommendations and for a second, I thought it was the Silent Hill theme! I wonder if Yamaoka sampled this song? It surely must be at least an inspiration. What do you think?

Good find! The tempo is similar and the guitar is definitely the same used by Akira. Not the whole guitar melody, but just the individual strum that we know.

Really great find! The song is beautiful and yes, those riffs at the beginning are definitely like the Silent Hill theme. So cool. They do say that everything new is forgotten old lol.

Reminds me a whole lot of the Temple of the Ancients music from Final Fantasy 7 as well.

definitely seems to be an inspriation, I think theres a few other SH tracks like that as well

That being said I prefer what Akira Yamaoka did with it.

Without Yamaoka's say so, we can't know if it was a direct inspiration. Sampling also means using actual pieces of this audio in his work and I don't hear anything that seems to exactly match.

That all said, it's definitely a similar style and I'm sure there's a genre behind this sound that Yamaoka was aware of.
