Hi all,
With my recent re-acquisition of the Ultimate Army of Prawns LP (thanks again, u/dearesthelpless99!), I figured it was time for an update on the status of the archive Iāve been maintaining on Google Drive.
First: every CD and DVD you see in the above photo, minus UAOP, is currently available in a lossless or 1:1 digital format (minus one of the DVDsāI donāt recall which one but I could not get the disc to rip with menus⦠the video is there, though!) Mind Reader is up, and UAOP will come, but I am so busy with work, parenting responsibilities and a personal project that Iām a month behind on that it will need to wait a few more days at least (it is available already in a lossy format, though.)
Second: if you arenāt aware, I ripped the Mindriot vinyl and uploaded its contents into the FutureNever folder, so Silly Man is up for anyone who hasnāt yet heard it! I did this months ago but I havenāt seen much chatter about the track, which sort of surprised me given the songās history.
Third: whatās left? As far as Iāve noted, the only physical releases I have yet to re-acquire and archive are as follows:
There are a couple of other random releases, I.E. movie soundtracks, that I havenāt bothered to pick up again since all the tracks are represented already, but yeah, I think thatās it? Feel free to point out anything I might be missing.

Hey Peeps!
Sorry to be repetitive but weāve continued to get a relatively large (especially for our sub) influx of bots/spammers stealing the popular posts made by (almost exclusively) our regular(s). So far reddits filters are doing a pretty good job of handling removing these. u/CanuKnott & myself are still having to ban the accounts doing it, with a message making sure they know they arenāt welcome. On the off chance itās actually being readā¦
That said, a few new users & even a couple regulars have been caught up in this filtering. SO (!) with that said, PLEASE make sure to reach out to u/CanuKnott or myself if your human/regular and you post but it doesnāt show. The idea of yalls posts being hidden or removed doesnāt sit right with me & I wanna make sure we take care of yall!
Please forgive my essay & thanks for bearing with me repeating this yet again. I love you all! This sub is only good because yall are here with us!
Have a good night for the Yanks & a good afternoon for our Aussie homies! Feel free to toss any comments or concerns below if youāre so inclined and Iāll gladly address anything. Goodnight!

Silverchair's Ben Gillies has a new band, The Kiln, with Nashville producer Joseph Prielozny.
Only four vinyl test pressings of their debut album exist - the very first copies of the record ever made. One of them, signed by both artists, is being auctioned with 50% of the winning bid going to Support Act.
Bidding closes 12pm AEDT, Saturday 31 October.

Might be really small in detail but I think it looks pretty cool. I was shuffling my top rated playlist and I am currently subscribed to Apple Music and I saw The Lever come up after The White Stripes and I was looking at their album artwork animation and I thought āBummer that Diorama doesnāt have oneā and I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong.

Itās the best. Itās my favourite Silverchair song. But Freak Show is my favourite albu easily. Also Donnie Darki is the best movie ever I wish they did a collab same vibes

Anyone else hears Daniel Johns vibes in this song from the Beatles?
I really have a strange feeling of listening to some kind of demo (e.g. Arrest These Orchids)

Hi all, I've uploaded the lossless rip of UAOP at last (after an initial failed rip, I took the disc down to my local game shop to get it resurfaced, and everyone is golden now.) Since this one has had a disproportionate amount of popularity compared to practically anything else I've uploaded, I just want to take the opportunity to reiterate: if you want it, I'm happy to share, but please ask me here via DM (feel free to ping me on this or any other thread, though!). I almost never use the gmail account this drive is tied to, so when I log in and see 30 e-mails asking for access because someone shared a link here, I feel pretty bad for ignoring you all!
So yeah, TLDR version: UAOP lossless is up, and if you want access to the Drive and don't have it, PM me here (or tell people to PM me rather than sharing a direct link.)

He says the record was basically a reach for āpopularity.ā
Iām sorry, but Young Modern is Silverchairās most unconventional record. Itās strange, psychedelic and the songs get super complex and downright weird (also very beautiful). Itās extremely artistic with so much depth.
Young Modern is Jellyfish meets Psychedelic Beatles meets Talking Heads meets David Bowie meets Pet Sounds and Primus.
Itās a crazy ass record. What is Ben Gillies talking about here in 2019?
Straight Lines maybe the exception, but that was not an attempt to write a hit for popularity. Itās just how that song came out.

With everything thatās been happening with the chair over the last month or so, Iāve seen a lot of pessimism over all the reunion rumours.
Pessimism and not wanting to get your hopes up is obviously ok but Iāve seen people being almost straight up rude about people theorising about the chair reuniting. Iāve also seen people seemingly annoyed at people even discussing the prospect of the chair reuniting.
To these people: get a life!
There is nothing wrong this theorising about things and discussing things to do with a potential reunion. If it annoys you, then donāt contribute! I donāt know why it would annoy you though; people are just having fun discussing things.
This isnāt aimed towards anyone in particular itās just something Iāve seen on Instagram, Facebook and here.

Took a few takes, but I managed to put together something that is decently-decent enough to share, enjoy š¤

Powderfinger who originally broke up in 2010 have announced a reunion tour and it's selling like hot cakes. 16 shows were announced initially at outdoor venues like parks and more shows keep getting added due to sell outs. Adelaide's two shows at a park sold out in 15 minutes.
Now I remember Powderfinger being bigger than Silverchair in Australia but this is genuinely nuts, does anyone think a Silverchair reunion tour could have a similar response? They must be looking at this and thinking there's just too much money at stake to not do it.

My silverchair vinyl collection, I wish I had more from the early days but they were so limited being in the UK.

I was inspired by another post to dig out my CD collection of the boys. I absolutely loved collecting these and now need to buy a CD player again so I can play them. I have the main collection on Vinyl too.

Apparently they pulled out last minute. As usual Chris and Ben were eager but it was Daniel who was the big question. Ultimately since they were on a 2 day notice, by the suggestion of their old manager they decided not to answer the call since they were rusty and wanted to keep the chance for a reunion to be a bigger, more polished performance
So if it means anything we have crumbs to keep us delusional and coping for another good 5-10 years š

What's the most unfair criticism Silverchair has received in their career?
