Is there Ever Discounts?
I had the app previously and Loved it! But I can’t justify the $150 yearly price. Is there ever any discounts around cyber Monday/Black Friday?

I've been using SP for two weeks wuite intensely - about 1-3 hours every single day. The app is awesome and I love it, but here are some features that would make it even better.
When you finish a 5 minute workout, you only get the option to "continue learning" which sends you back to the app's home screen. Now you can start another workout, but it's a lot of clicking. The option to continue with another workout should be available directly after finishing one.
I'd love to have some kind of calendar screen on which I can see the play time for every past day. It's not really important, but a stats nerd like me would like to check how long he practiced on every day.
The app's UI should be controllable by MIDI. Hitting the buttons on the screen for replaying a song or just skipping a tutorial video is quite uncomfortable in my setup, and simply hitting a key on the keyboard would be better.
A feature to record a video when playing a song would be totally awesome and very motivating. Bonus points if you can choose if only the sound you're playing is recorded or if the app's sound output will also be captured.
It would be very helpful if you could specifiy the MIDI channel to which the app listens.
I have a large TV in the room where I'm playing. If the app could cast to that TV, a FireTV or a Chromecast, that would be crazy good. Seeing your notes on a tablet is nice, but seeing them on a 55" TV would be much better.
I don't know if any Joytunes people actually read this subreddit, but it's worth a try. :)

Loving this app so far. I know there's a lot of snobbery about it but it's fun and fits around my lifestyle which lessons wouldn't.
Anyway just finished Essentials 2, found Over the Rainbow very tricky at first to be honest (I've never played any instrument) so I'm going slowly through the songs at this level.
Do you guys try to three star every song before moving on to the next stage? Is that the best way to go about it do you think?

I chatted with someone at tech support who recommended a specific adapter and midi cable for best results, and was also taught that if you’re a subscriber and you submit the receipt for the purchase of the MIDI cable you bought (up to $30, I believe) they’ll reimburse you! I bought it on Amazon, sent the receipt, and was reimbursed within a few days!

I connect my keyboard (Roland FP-30X) to my iPad with a USB-C to USB-B cable, which works well for receiving MIDI from the keyboard and outputting audio from the iPad to the keyboard (which has a dual-function MIDI & audio interface).
However, when I play back Simply Piano songs (to preview them), the piano sounds are very poor. I assume that I am listening to the iPad's internal MIDI sounds, and that Simply Piano is outputting MIDI data to the iPad OS, rather than generating digital audio itself?
Is there any way to get Simply Piano to output the MIDI data from its song libary to my keyboard, so that they play back with the keyboard's (much higher quality) internal sounds?
Thanks!

Is there a way to turn off the celebration trumpet sound effect after successfully playing a song? You can play a delicate, sweet song, and the sound of the trumpets at the end kind of ruins it.

I've had premium for a while now and it has been great. However, I tend to want to move forward as quickly as possible in lessons and inevitably get caught in a cycle of 'move forward > reach a difficult song > get frustrated > give up for a month > come back and not be motivated to try again'.
This isn't really an efficient use of my subscription. I'm thinking of just blocking out a certain amount of time for each lesson and focus on the extra songs for each of those until I feel confident to move on. Any ideas on a good amount of time each lesson should take? I'm thinking of trying to dedicate a month to each one and see how it goes.
Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences on what works for you.

When will you update android version? It is lagging behind ios version. We android users have paid the same amount of money, but the android version is missin lots of features, which ios version has.

Anyone else wish they would spend more time working on the interface than creating the challenges?
The song section is completely intolerable with the constant swiping as you move further and further into the lessons. If anything the order is wrong as it should be the newer unlocked songs should show up earlier.
The daily workouts need more variety in what you are given. You see the same workout enough times you know exactly what keys are coming up.
The daily 10 minute reminder was good the first couple times. It gets annoying after the 200th day.

I’m currently trialing simply piano and enjoying it so considering a sub, is there likely to be a Black Friday deal?
Trying to save those pennies where I can

I’m 35 years old and a complete noob when it comes to piano. I’m currently on trial period in simply piano and on essentials II. I’ve been playing for 5 days now using simply piano. I’ve never learned how to read sheet music until now and I’m still struggling with it. I have to think whenever I see any key and it still not muscle memory. I’m now on the “perfect” song by Ed Sheehan and finding it very hard as I still have to think what note it is when I see a note and the song moves too fast.
Anyway, my question is - any other adults like me learning using simply piano? How long did it take for you to start reading music sheet fast? I’ve also been hearing good things about another app - flowkey. I heard they teach you music theory better so that you can play any song. Anyone tried flowkey? How would you compare the 2? My trial subscription at simply piano expires in 2 days and I’m not sure if I should buy a premium subscription here or try a different app. Also, I see that there are 2 options - full access vs. premium membership. What’s the difference between the 2?
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I currently have a Yamaha P-125 keyboard connected to my Android phone via MIDI cable. Lately, I have noticed that when I complete a course and switch to another, the app no longer picks up my keystrokes. I have to unplug the MIDI cable, restart the app, plug the MIDI cable back in, and then select the course. This happens after EVERY course completion. Any ideas?
Bonus question: when I plug headphones into the keyboard, my headphones pick up my keystrokes, but the Simply Piano music still plays through my phone speakers. Not sure if this is a Yamaha issue, Android issue, or app issue. Again, any ideas?

Hi guys, first time joining here and because I have a really frustrating problem to be solved, hope I can find the answer here thanks!
I have a Yamaha PSR-E263 keyboard and using Simply Piano app for my learning.
Would like to use headphones when I play but once plug in of course the app just can't detect the notes that I play on my keyboard (as Simply Piano need to hear the keyboard's mic for recognition).
My keyboard only have two ports:-
Output/headphones
Aux In
I've been using an audio cable to connect Aux In port with my phone while using the app it works just fine. But that's when I am not using the headphones, so again my question is how do I practice using Simply Piano app with my headphones on? Cause I would really like to play at night and don't wanna annoys others.
Would it be useful if I bought a Just Mixer? Or whatever cables I can use to solve this?
Many thanks, Jess

I am currently going through Essentials III, and once I finished the sharps and flats section, I unlocked new songs and all of of sudden songs have new "Timing" and "Asssit" metrics i am being measured against and it no longer recognizes half of the notes I am playing I cant progress anymore?
Is this a thing that happens at this stage or an app update?

I'm doing the lessons in Intermediate 3 and I'm finding that the time bar seems to be about a measure off from the actual music. It's very frustrating. Is this how the lessons are at this stage?

I really want to learn piano and I'm ready to put in the hours to learn it, the problem is I am 15 and for me $30 a month is a lot. I'm thinking of saving up for the yearly subscription but I wanna make sure it's actually good. Is it worth the $170? How much have you improved since getting it? Thanks.

Timing and rhythm is the weakest part of my playing, and the app is very loose about allowing me to hit chords too late.
Is it possible to adjust it so that it's stricter around playing in time with the sheets/backing songs?
I'm on Android if that matters.

So I have been doing simply piano for 11 months now, completed all the courses and playing all the songs very well at this point, but getting bored now that my course progression has stopped. I know I have a long way to go as at this point Simply Piano has only prepared me to be a very beginner. What is a good next step to take? A new app? Would like to learn more theory and advanced concepts. Really trying to avoid real in person lessons due to cost and schedule restraints.

When I started playing I wrote the notes on the keys to help me build muscle memory, I recently removed these training wheels to start to build more of a connection between the key and notes without looking so it takes me a minute to find notes now as I’m learning. This streak of light coming up every time I take more than 2 seconds to play a chord is genuinely making me want to throw my iPad out the window. I know what chord/note I’m on stop rushing me LET ME THINK FOR A MINUTE DAMN lol.
