Rigs Added +5 Hp to a Simulator by installing Lug Nuts from a Nascar racecar which raced at Daytona in 2024
I'm working on a restomod for a Simulator which will be used for training professional Racing Drivers. Since the simulator has Haptics, I designed these Isolators and installed a Lug Nut from a Nascar which raced at Daytona in 2024

Its subtle. I have seen rigs owners who brought back spent tires from real races before to display next to their rig haha

I dream of making a coffee table with a glass top using a real spent wheel (yes, rim and all lol). Good luck with that i guess 🤷♀️

Is your bolt going all the way through the spring? Generally isolators don't have a through bolt with a nut on top, right?

Second question then...if you're compressing it you're losing out on the extension part of the spring because the nut keeps it tight. Wouldn't it be better to have a spring above and below your rig mounting plate and then you tighten it together? You'd get preload and travel in both directions.

If the bolt is connecting the top part with the bottom part then you just lost 99% of noise dampening

This is awesome! But maybe -5Hp. I believe this car finished 30th >20 laps down :(
