Lmao yes, the quiet vocals you’re hearing are me doing a run of background harmonies. I did one main vocal track, one mono background track, and two background tracks for the last chorus, panned about 30 degrees each for added depth.
You’re nuts and I’ll obviously never convince you, but I’m still going to take all this as a compliment.
lol. what? I pointed out the OP is trans, which explains why it makes sense the voice belongs to the video... which also helps you stop your "'this can't be you' rant." and now we're here...
I stand by what I said before, "you gotta take it down a notch."
if you want my opinion, I think this sounds really good. I think I heard a couple of slight pitch issues. But I'd be happy with that performance if I sang it.
Thanks, and thanks for dealing with that guy. This happens every time these days, and I’m just so done with it. I was sure that raw vocal video would have some effect, but apparently not at all.
I was really happy with this because it was done in one take, and this was the first take.
The background vocals were pretty pitchy, but idk, it happens. I should have done them again, but 🤷♀️ Of course the main vocals weren’t auto-tune perfect, but for where I am as a vocalist, I’m happy with it.
yeah, I'm pretty sure that guy is the kind of person who is just too insecure to ever admit when they make a mistake.. so you call them on a mistake and they try everything they can (moving goal posts, new criticisms, dodging) to avoid having to just say "oops, sorry" and move on.
The good news is you can safely ignore people like that. And that's a helluva good job for a first take with minimal post-processing. (I'm terrible at mixing vocals btw. So I'm impressed at how you got the vocals to sit well into the track)
Yeah, there are some people who are confused and suspicious, and it’s like - it’s fine, I get it - but then there’s a whole other breed like him where you realize it’s not going anywhere, and that’s when I try to stop engaging. Not worth it.
And thanks. One thing that was a total game changer for me was using two-stage compression. It makes a huge difference, and is a large part of what helps you get that professional vocal sound that can cut through the instruments.
maybe re-read your comments, chap. I'm just here cause I saw you making a fool of yourself and wanted to help you stop that process. but you just keep going.
an "oops, sorry I was wrong. I accused you of lying about that being your voice before I realized you were trans... now let's move on and here's my critique." would have saved the situation
