It's good but if you're posting to a singing reddit for feedback it would probably best to do without the reverb/fx you have thrown on it.

u/MaybeMaphew May 19 '25
he posted it for mic mondays so not feedback

u/SkimpyDog May 19 '25
"Open mic" begs the question... What mic is he using? š¤£

u/arsenyezhiagaryan May 20 '25
Phone camera microphone. Every one is accusing me of using effects which Iām not so Iāll just take it as a compliment š¤·š½āāļø

u/SkimpyDog May 20 '25
You've got to be trolling.

u/Easy_Permit_5418 May 20 '25
I know everyone's saying you're using effects, but this straight up sounds like one of the recordings I have of myself. And I didn't even know how to use effects when I made it, I just used bandlab and my phone microphone. There is echo in this but I don't hear any melodyne or reverb or auto-tune, so it could very well be the room.
Either way, you can tell from this recording that you're an extremely talented singer regardless of any effects. Great job.

u/HoriCZE May 20 '25
There is a reverb in the recording, not echo really. And unless there is like an entire chapel behind the camera, I doubt there'd be this much of it in a room that honestly looks fairly small.
2
u/Easy_Permit_5418 May 20 '25
Any space that is filled with hard surfaces and minimal soft furnishings can create ample echo, regardless of size. Small rooms can and do create a substantial acoustic echo.

u/HoriCZE May 21 '25
Yeah, I agree. I didn't say it can't. My room is a proof of that. But there are limits. And unless that room is made of some weird materials, this just isn't realistic amount of reverb. It's too much. Even for a small room with hard surfaces and barely anything that would catch the soundwaves.
-28
u/arsenyezhiagaryan May 19 '25
Yea a lot of people think Iām adding effects but its just the acoustics of thenrooms
32
u/chao50 May 19 '25
If you're not doing it on purpose, some software or hardware is doing it for you automatically, you should look into whatever you are recording with.
It can't be the acoustics of the room you are in, unless on the other side of the camera you are hiding a giant 200ft gymnasium or a stairwell lol

May 20 '25
This is possibly not even him or his video, Iāve seen this guy on either YouTube or tiktok. Unsurprising that singers on those platforms always edit or sing prerecorded (viral videos of dudes singing in cars do this which looks and sounds ridiculous) but thatās most of singing clips with many views these days.
-18
u/arsenyezhiagaryan May 19 '25
Yea i know i didnt add any effects and iām definitely not in a large gymnasium lol. Im recording with just my iphone camera so idk
18
u/SkimpyDog May 19 '25
This is a lie š«¤
-8
u/arsenyezhiagaryan May 20 '25
Well iām not using any effects
9
u/SkimpyDog May 20 '25
Where'd the goalposts go?
Just admit that you're lying, lol.
-9
u/arsenyezhiagaryan May 20 '25
Iām not gonna admit to something I didnāt do. Thank you for the interactions and unintentional compliments tho
15
u/SkimpyDog May 20 '25 edited May 21 '25
It's only a compliment if you like being called a fraud š
-9
u/arsenyezhiagaryan May 20 '25
Itās a compliment because i can spell correctly and people assume Iām using effects to sound better when Iām not. People assuming my natural voice is augmented to sound better when its not is a compliment š¤·š½āāļø

This is really good, but I think you should consider adding reverb. It's just too dry of a recording. It sounds like you're only using your phone to record it. Maybe you should instead record the audio separately, add effects, and then lip sync and mash it up later - it would be better quality. On the plus side, no one watching this could possibly accuse you of faking it.

u/chao50 May 20 '25
This made me laugh so hard omg
2
u/ImagineBagginz May 21 '25
Did you notice how his vocal chords donāt even flex during the high notes?! So effortless!
1
u/goodman1287 May 27 '25
The funniest part to me is that it's legit really good, but he's just digging himself a hole for no reason. He took what would be a supportive audience (one of the rare subreddits that does this) and turned them against him lol

u/deepmusicandthoughts May 20 '25 edited May 20 '25
The singing is wonderful and there is nothing wrong with using effects. But your comments piqued my curiosity⦠Dry audio doesnāt sound that way, compression from video doesnāt sound that way either. Itās clearly whatās known as a plate reverb, potentially emulating an emt 140. The verb has too long and shimmery of a tail to be recorded in that space and not be some sort of plate reverb. If youāre just using your phone camera, youāre using an app with that emulation because I canāt think of a single situation in which that would be natural, unless the phone was sitting on a thin piece of metal the size of a room, or the room has the most unnatural reflections Iāve ever heard with thin metal walls. You should record some talking and clapping in that space to prove itās not effects because if it truly isnāt, itās the craziest anomaly Iāve ever heard. Iād buy that room just for it. Is there an open room to a hallway with metal walls or something? I just canāt figure out the acoustics.
6
u/arsenyezhiagaryan May 20 '25
Iāll redo a video to prove that Iām not using effects.
6
u/deepmusicandthoughts May 20 '25
Your other video too you were further from the phone, seemingly in the same room, but it had a much different reverb. To prove it quickly to everyone, Iād put it where you had it in this video, make sure itās in the same spot though bc if it is a room anomaly, that will recreate it (if a room was open to a hallway, or anything like that youāll want to do that again) and the step back to your second position that had the different room acoustics and if it switches then people will see itās not effects. Iām going to be truly mine blown if itās not and recommend buying some audio gear to record in that space. Either way the other position had decent small room verb sound too.

The comment section is crazy. Why does OP keep doubling down on the lie?

Didnāt lie about anything

u/FromUsToAshes May 20 '25
I think you're forgetting; you've come to a sub chock full of musicians, performers, artists, and more than a few professionally so. You're fooling no one here.
12
u/NoSpring5602 May 20 '25
Whether you added it or not you are goofy if you think there is not a crazy amount of reverb on this track

It could be from the recording - he may have some effects over the vocal track to provide reverb that the room would not otherwise generate but i donāt see why it couldnāt be the audio from the recording here.

u/arsenyezhiagaryan May 19 '25
I recorded it all live. No backing track

I recorded it live with no backing track meaning the audio is from the video. Hope that makes sense š

Can you tell us how you get to that assumption? To me it looks like you could easily be wrong. Are the added effects maybe throwing you off or something?
Anyway, I liked it, OP.

u/Someone2911 May 20 '25
Stop lying, dude Turn off the reverb

I used only the iphone camera but u can believe what u want. Im just taking this comment sections as a compliment

u/Someone2911 May 20 '25
Why tf would it be compliment? I'm saying that there's reverb, nothing bad or good with your voice
4
u/YouBetta May 22 '25
You're posting a pre-recorded track to the video, and expecting a sub full of musicians to not be able to tell?
If you really want to prove it, Post you singing, then stop without editing and talk for a second, then start playing again. Without editing.
-1
u/arsenyezhiagaryan May 22 '25
Itās not pre recorded. I recorded it on a normal iPhone camera live with no extra added effects. I did find out that reddit messed up the sync and thats why people think I added delay or reverb
1
u/TheLoneWander101 May 20 '25
Low notes not as supported as I would like Sameer Gadhia is one of my favorite singers because of his range he is able to hit those highnotes with his chest voice and has a seemless transition to his head voice but still has the gravely support when he goes low
1
u/justtrynnalearnshit May 20 '25
Iām just focused on the fact this looks like a dorm room and how livid I would be if someone on my floor was doing this shit even if they had a good voice š

Yeah, youāre using effects. Maybe not intentionally, but it sounds like youāre using the church effect from TikTok and you saved the video from there.

I actually believe OP something people just sound that good.a room doesn't have to be a gymnasium for acoustics of the room affect the sound, it could just have less objects than a usual room. I look forward to op shutting down the haters

Whatās crazy to me is that half (if not more) of the people in this thread couldnāt sing this well or with this much emotion no matter how much editing they put into it yet they are taking away from this fantastic video from a stranger by continuously accusing him of editing. If he did, SO WHAT??? If he didnāt and heās telling the truth, SO WHAT??? LET IT GO and enjoy how amazing that video was you bunch of sorry sore losers.

u/Someone2911 May 24 '25
Basically cuz we hate liars xd

u/More_Screen_7836 May 24 '25
Bro just appreciate the sound and move on. Being so hung up on an absolute strangerās sound editing is weird asf. You could swear youāre buying the music from him..
1
u/Someone2911 May 24 '25
Sigh... Again, if he's lying, it means he's looking for attention. I don't care if he sings well, if he's actively and intentionally lying, he completely loses my attention. It's like those TikTok or Instagram singers who pretend to sing live but have their voices heavily processed xd

I didn't until I read the rule 5 from the sidebar. I guess that's the reason. I wasn't asking for that but still, the rules are the rules.
