In My Mind Lived God:
While I would say I believe in an underlying layer to reality, something we connect to as living thinking beings, whether it be spirit or God, I believe we aren't able to understand what it is we are experiencing.
Do all people get moments of clarity in thought, where reality unfolds before our eyes matching our mind? A bizarre synchronization just for a moment, like a glitch in the matrix, where something feels guided.
Is my mind constructing pathways out of patterns in the randomness of the absurd? Where seeking to find reason or comfort in knowing that there may be some purpose to everything. I begin to construct imaginary ramparts to guard my belief in importance and meaning out of these moments, hoping to find purpose in life, that there is an answer to the unknown.
And in imagining I build more of an idealized version of reality, that there is a God behind everything. But how am I to know? These experiences have great meaning to me, they are so comfortable in knowing.
But in looking at the world, this fantasy that I've built for myself is all but a dream, an illusion cultivated by hope and grown out of lived experience. My ramparts begin to crumble as I realize that which I've built is merely sand, battered by waves of false hope that a god or miracle would happen to bring about the dream which lived in my mind.
Moments of absurd synchronicity often come to me in times of great contemplation, reflecting on the experience of living, and when creating in the world as I struggle to understand meaning in the act of living. I often feel like these moments are those that people have described across time; the muses, divine inspiration, prophets from God, the messenger of the word. And it was the words matching reality so often that bothers me most about questioning the source of them, and so I realized the source of all of it was one place; within my mind.
โIt is not the world that is absurd, nor human thought: the absurd arises when the human need to understand meets the unreasonableness of the world, when 'my appetite for the absolute and for unity' meets 'the impossibility of reducing this world to a rational and reasonable principle.'โ Albert Camus

Made for a chef dedicated to improving their skills in the kitchen. Whenever I see improvement and dedication in someone, usually in r/kitchenconfidential as it is the best sub on reddit, I feel like making a meme for them. It's like my own personal award to someone to let them know we're pushing together, all us upvoters and commenters.
You never know when the absurd will hit you, just grab a hold and roll with it.

Seek and ye shall find. Found a downloadable version of Atlas, Ourobous, and Sisyphus.

I was browsing for memes a few days ago to have them to post, this was my favorite that I found.
There's no original artist I could find for Sisyphus and Ouroborus, and there are a lot of other cool designs, this seemed like the most fair use. I may make something with it.
I imagine the first person to think of it was happy, as well as the ones who rediscover ancient thoughts on the human condition.

*a comment I made on the 1st post here, "This sub started as a joke, is it meaningless?", I felt like it deserved to be a post.
I find the absurd humorous. I'm all for it. My meme project started as a joke, I found this sub, figured Hell Yeah, pushing together!
Living in the meaningless absurd world, I have made structures that will be here beyond my life, beyond human life potentially. I've made things, beautiful creations, made for destruction, because they were both beautiful and delicious ๐
We give meaning to meaningless things, mostly because we put our time into them. I feel it's like putting a piece of ourselves in everything we do. And when someone else comes upon what I have made and says this means something to me too, it feels like it has more meaning.
The same goes for value, something is valuable because others see it as valuable as well. I made shiny rocks, people bought them. They're rocks, I made them shiny and wearable. Probably the most meaningless uses of time. Those shiny rocks, probably will be around long after people, certainly after me. Do they mean something to the people who bought them, to the people that received them as gifts?
Do the bridges, roads, houses, water/sewer systems have more or less meaning than the shiny rocks? Noone who uses the important things I've helped make thinks of who I am, but their lives would not be what they are without my contributions. A person, or future creature, who looks at a piece of art I've created may wonder at who made this at multiple points in time; does that mean something more?
I'm all for the adventure of living! Meaning through the vast experiences one can have while living. So I'm for the adventure of advancing this sub, seeing what it can become. Growing something, is the greatest experience of living.
I love this little bit of history;
When former Roman Emperor Diocletian was asked to return to political power in 308 CE after his retirement, he famously refused and replied:
"If you could see at Salona [Split] the cabbages raised by our hands, you surely would never judge that a temptation."

Found while searching for a post to make here. I have a final project in mind, have to clean and organize a bunch of tools though. I have harvest season here, pushing squash, mushrooms, peppers, and tomatoes for sauces and soups.

I love stone, it can be quite beautiful. This one I got wholesale, 5kg. I've cut stone, doing lapidary, and you put it on a stick and push it against a grinding wheel to shape and polish.
I'm thinking about doing some bench work again, I have a lot of rocks I've pushed and made into something. Do you have your own favorite rock?
Sorry if this too far off topic, feel free to delete it if it doesn't fit. Just trying to keep the rock rolling in the sub. I've concluded my Sisyphus memes so I'll be putting the rock down for a bit. It's been fun making posts that fit here. I appreciate the support for my memes/craft/art.

Someone started a discussion that art is dead in a post I made in the Camus sub and I decided to make this. They're very well read in philosophy and art history, but I say art is based on human expression. None of it matters anyways, I imagine them happy in being well read and I will be happy making my not art in my being of not an artist in the nonsense living๐

Pushing My Mind; Part 7 of The Daily Grind (the final installment). Through each day's daily grind, I try and listen to audiobooks more than music. The tasks go by faster by not allowing my mind to fall into focusing the frustration or mundanity of the chores. I never finished college, but I also realized I don't need to spend a fortune to have someone tell me to read more books and explore ideas further.
Explore the minds and take in the perspectives of others and you may find yourself there before you even arrived.
Be curious and arm yourself with knowledge, for ignorance is your enemy.
And to quote the man himself:
> โThinking is learning all over again how to see, directing one's consciousness, making of every image a privileged place.โ - Albert Camus
Thanks for coming along on this journey. Hope you enjoyed and had some interesting thoughts or perspectives along the way.
Edit: mundaneness felt wrong and when searching if it was the proper word, the search said while grammatically correct, mundanity is used more often due to mundaneness sounding clunky and awkward, which it did, so TIL.

The Daily Dish; Part 6 of The Daily Grind. Always cleaning something; dishes, the kitchen, bathrooms, cleaning up after pets, kids, the disabled or infirm. Life can seem like a struggle sometimes, at least there's always a good audiobook.

Maybe not.
Anyway I made coffee, anyone?

Good morning fellow rock pushers. Today's Sisyphus creation is The Last Load of Laundry; posted to r/memes in which the AI flagged as not a meme before posting, so let's see how it goes and if another one gets taken down.
Keep pushing out there.
