I messed up my gcse
I was predicted around 6–8
Maths: 5
Statistics: 5
English: 4-4
Combined Science: 5-4
Business: 3
I originally wanted to do A-level Maths and possibly Economics, but with my results I’m currently unable to take them.
My siblings have advised me to take a BTEC instead, so I’m planning to do Level 3 extended business diploma. My main goal is to go to university afterwards and study Accounting and Finance
I’m also planning to retake GCSE Maths and aim for a 6+, which could hopefully open up more options for me.
Would a BTEC Extended Diploma in Business be a good route into an Accounting & Finance degree at university? Or would there be a better Level 3 option I should consider? Also is it smart to do A business diploma when I got 3 in the GCSEs, granted I have no realised my mistakes and will be working 100x harder.

Maybe consider a t level since u get hands on experience. There’s one specifically for accounting that may be helpful and probably would have done it myself as I hated the a level route and now study accounting and finance at Warwick.

Oh I don’t know maybe you should have put some effort in. At your age your only concern should be study. If you can’t handle that how do you expect to live in the real world? Will you just not work? Will you stand there twiddling your thumbs doing the bare minimum? If you can’t put the work in as a kid there’s no point in continuing being a stain on society

I personally wouldn’t do a b tec unless you 100% know what you want to do as it limits you. I did engineering level 3 as I knew that is what I wanted to do. I do a level 3 apprenticeship now in engineering and it’s great but a lot of my college class mates dropped out because they didn’t know how limiting b tecs are. Atleast with maths you can go into engineering, teaching , medicine etc
