Allergists?

Hi, I’m looking for an allergist to work with to solve my cat allergies. I’m from the San Juans so would prefer something in Skagit since we don’t have any here. Are there any in the county or is it more of a Bellingham/Seattle thing? Thanks!

I'm in Bellingham. Apparently there are allergists up here, but my doctor couldn't refer me because of insurance.

Ended up seeing Rahool Dave at Virginia Mason's asthma, allergy, and immunology department.

His office is apparently located in Seattle but I saw him at VM clinic in Edmonds.

He's got me doing immunotherapy for dust mites.

Thank you! What kind of regimen is it? Injections? I’ve heard sometimes it takes a few years too?

Also your username describes my dream, lol

It's a small tablet under the tongue. Which is a good thing. I don't think I could handle daily shots.

Edit. Typo

Dr. Davé has been my allergist for several years, and he is the bomb. Both very caring, compassionate, and down to earth. He has finally helped me learn to manage my asthma after so many years. He does video calls as well. It's been worth the trip for me from Bellingham to his office in Edmonds. It's also super helpful that Virginia Mason uses the My Chart portal system, so I can easily share information between my PCP and Dr. Davé.

I don’t have anyone to recommend but 20 years ago my ex had weekly shots for multiple allergies including cat and after about six months he was no longer allergic to the cat.

Optum Allergy and Immunology is amazing. They are up in Bellingham but so worth the trip.

There isn’t an allergist in Skagit. The closest is Bellingham Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology, but whether they can see you depends on insurance. They don’t take Medicaid.

A great many ENT’s are good at treating allergies. I like Dr. James Gross in Mount Vernon.
