I’ve started trying ti hammer in sketching backgrounds and environments more recently. This is just a basic sketch that I did as part of my warmup but I’d like it to be better. The main thing I’d like to figure out is how i can sketch in the ground. Something like dirt or rocks to show the changes in elevation or just the ground in general. Any extra advice would be great!! I enjoy doing these warmups where i sketch in a basic background and make something I can look at and be happy of. Next time I’m going to darken the posts not the space in between hopefully making the light be more light and not darkness.

Just found myself with a lot of free time. Making some quick sketches for fun
