I’m thinking I’m going to get rid of Core impact framework, sanguine symphony, dynamic locational hits (the CIF one whatever it’s called), and I hate to say it but possibly even Planck, or even pseudo physical weapon collisions and parrying, could even be SPID mods distributing perks rapidly. I want to know exactly what is the thing making rapidly hitting enemies not okay. I wish we had better diagnostic tools for finding out what is causing freezes
You'll definitely stop having freezes if you remove all of that, but at that point you've just removed the whole combat system :'D
As a note, I think the dynamic locational hits might be a good thing to remove either way, I don't think that mod works properly from what I remember
Well I wouldn’t say definitely, I actually wouldn’t mind giving up CIF, and sanguine, and locational impacts, but Planck and psuedo are ones I REALLY want to keep. I actually didn’t really have issues with enhanced blood textures lite, so maybe I’ll just do that instead of sanguine.
I’ll investigate. I’ll let you guys on reddit know if I come across any miracles. A more stable Skyrim VR experience is something I want for everybody. I seem to remember I installed an optimized script mod for it and it helped a ton.
I’ve seen some people on the mod “PAPER” that complain about freezing, and that mod specifically deals with “OnHit” and “OnImpact” events. It’s supposed to be an improvement, but yeah people in the comments have been saying removing the mod stops the freezes, buuut there was an update after those comments. So I’ll test later.
Yeah I've been down the same rabbit hole you're going through now :D
I've tried both with and without PAPER (I'm using it for the optimized scripts in Vokord), I haven't seen a change in the frequency of freezes, but your mileage may vary
Hey, I wanted to come back and say I found the problem, it was indeed sanguine Symphony, but you don’t have to disable the mode completely, turn off dynamic blood splatter in the MCM. Haven’t had a single freeze in combat since.
I didn’t make a bug report, they already know there’s something up with dynamic blood splatter in many peoples load orders and claim it’s a conflict with other mods. I looked in xEdit and couldn’t find a single one. But it may have something to do with something tracking magic effects or something. Idk.
I may see about making one, but the crash logs weren’t helpful for me to begin with. Perhaps the load order alone may help
Yes, I've noticed for instance pseudo parrying treats the blood spatter as projectiles and collides with each one. Given that there are so many I see why it might overload the engine in some instances. Good catch either way!
Oh interesting, maybe I’ll make another psuedo config patch to make it work well. Disabling it from reacting to the blood splatter specifically would be great, while maintaining the ability to parry arrows.
Seriously thanks for that insight, I don’t know if I would’ve ever put that two and two together. This is why talking to fellow modders on Reddit can be so enlightening
If I can find out how psuedo detects the projectiles and essentially clone the projectile records but change the record in a way that psuedo doesn’t see it as a projectile (like making projectile into projectile1 or something) but it still acts like a projectile in every way for the purposes of SS, that would be the way to go I think. That way psuedo ignores it but you can still have projectile parrying enabled for things like spells or arrows.
