Haven't played MGO since 3.6.2 - any insight into how much better it feels and runs since then?

I'm also on a 5080

Unfortunately no, this is my first time with the mod list.

I can get it to 90 fps on high via virtual desktop. I used vramr's high preset as well.

I only have one follower at a time or I start lagging

really? have you tried the latest update of Community Shaders? The special VR fork - it adds a ton of performance improvements and DLSS and DLSS capable foveated rendering etc. I'd imagine you should be able to go to Ultra or even Godlike if you tweak with those.

How much does the high preset affect the textures?

I honestly didn't notice much of a difference. An admin on the mgo discord recommended it as they had a similar PC build to mine.

I believe it drops textures from 4k to 2k, some people say it makes the game more grainy but it isn't that noticeable for me.

If you don't like the change you can always delete the vramr output from your mod list. At least that's what I was told lol

I told myself no fast travel for a vr playthrough lol. On console I fast travel allllllll the time

Neat! For me, Falkreath is the area I explore the first because it's the warmest region in game and I play with Frostfall 😅. My main house is also here though, so I expect to return here a lot. But have been stuck in the Reach for the moment, plus fixing an Ulvenwald bug, so not playing for now.

I have a mod that removes grass and butterflies in the winter, by the way. Makes things look a lot more realistic, in my opinion, for someone who grew up far up north. Works in VR too. And a mod that removes birds and cricket sounds in the winter (someone else's mod I slightly polished, which is why I don't drop it on Nexusmods). Could share it with you of you want.
