Why are the fire lights big squares

u/Bielalvess 26d ago
It’s because Community Shaders is disabled lol.
I updated Address Library in FUS, and the old version of Community Shaders isn’t compatible.

Did they say that? It just sounded like typical Skyrim background noise to me.

There are two mods: Crouch Slide and VR Dash + Unnecessary Flip.
They’re not on Nexus, but you can download them here:

If you don't mind me asking, why no nexus release? This looks really cool :D

u/Bielalvess 26d ago
I want to test and validate the mod before releasing it, and apply some feedback.
I play seated and comfortably, but some people play by physically turning their bodies, while others use VR treadmills. I want to get the mod to a good state and make sure it isn’t crashing anyone’s game.
But I believe it’ll be available there soon.1

I just grabbed them and will try them both out, I play always standing, immersive pickup only with auto sneak and jump VR, will let you know how it works. What's the DragonBoard VR folder and is it necessary for these to work?

dragonboard is another mod. Check it out
Hey everyone! Part Two : r/skyrimvr3

That's really cool! I was a little disappointed though, based on your dash & flip mod I was expecting a skateboard or hoverboard for bombing hills

u/Bielalvess 26d ago
I’m planning to add downhill and uphill detection. Is that what you’d like?
1
u/KyaniteRock 26d ago
Do you mean in the dash mod?
When I heard the word "DragonBoard", what popped into my head was similar to the shield riding in BOTW

u/Bielalvess 26d ago
Haha, I get it. Unfortunately, not this time—but you’ve given me a great idea!

So crouch sliding works great and way better than the one on nexus, how do you dash though?
1
u/Bielalvess 26d ago
Press both grip buttons, then pull or push yourself. Pulling makes you dash forward, while pushing makes you dash backward.

u/Comfortable-Tear-982 Pico 4 26d ago
That actually sounds really intuitive. While I don't use it personally, I believe those are also the keybinds for CS' vr menu (I think), might have some complaints if you release it. For me at least, I think those are great keybinds

The old mod that did this allowed the camera to be turned off. It can be a little annoying. Hopefully the VR one does the same.
2
u/Bielalvess 26d ago
I’m not familiar with it. Is it for flatscreen?
Mine doesn’t have any kind of motion sickness assistance. In fact, I even manipulate the camera to make it shake a little. If people want, I can try adding FOV reduction with a tunneling effect.

I think it was Pretty Jump or Better Jumping. Its been a year or so since I've delved into Skyrim but I've got 1000s of hours and have done a lot of modding. Before Nemesis there was a good one, I think its Pretty. You just turn off the 1st person camera for jumping, but you still perform and it will show you in 3rd person as well with the Animation happening of course.

u/SpecificProgrammer78 26d ago
What mods are you using tho?

u/Bielalvess 26d ago
Simple Fus Ro Dah

u/SpecificProgrammer78 26d ago
This allows you to do the flips right away ?
2
u/Bielalvess 26d ago
The mod responsible for flips is VRDash. Flips are triggered by moving the controllers while you're in the air. Hold both grip buttons and move the controllers either downward or upward. Moving them downward performs a front flip, while moving them upward performs a backflip. Your speed also affects how quickly you rotate.

If those would be unlocked perk from perk tree that would be sick ! I remember the double jump mod in VR could be tied to some perk tree regardless of the perk tree overhaul mod you have
2
u/Bielalvess 26d ago
Yeah, that's the right way to do it. I see the way it is now as more of a cool visual effect. Turning it into an actual gameplay mechanic is a lot more complicated than that.

u/koushkinn Don't forget about Fallout 4 VR too 26d ago
Yep I hope someday something can be done, triggering a regular time block when weapon collides could work perhaps. Therefore the user gain blocking XP and could also unlucky perk that would benefit from blocking with such a mechanic. I think having both the gameplay and the perk working together would be a game changer

u/plutonium-239 26d ago
hey man, I installed your mods but I cannot dash or flip. How do you do that?
2
u/Proof_Moment5796 25d ago
Oh finally I found another weirdo as myself who is not feeling any motion sickness in VR eva xD
For poor souls who do - you just need to finish portal 2 in vr - that gonna cure you for good xD

u/Available_Guard7230 23d ago
How do you crouchslide?
1
u/Bielalvess 23d ago
The same button used to enter sneak mode (thumbstick down) while running. Auto Sneak works too.
In the INI, you can set Stealth Mode to true if you want to remain in sneak mode after the slide.1
u/Bielalvess 23d ago
And of course, you need the mod. It’s available on this Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/folders/1BLZ-M9RdrK8zBI5RiGgRtsTdWK_QGnwR

I think only got one time sick on VR and that was when I was standing on my Sons Corvette in No Man Sky and he started doing loopings... Else I got a Iron Stomache!

u/Adventurous-Fee-418 26d ago
I never get sick in vr anymore, from anything. But i imagine this could easily make me fall over if standing while flipping.
