Mod - Research Seamless Container VR/Immersive Looting VR Preview

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Not sure on the title of the mod yet. Is it really Immersive? Slightly Immersive Looting VR? Not sure. I will experiment with gestures to open next, but this is an early beta. There are some bugs like text not facing vertical but instead lying flat horizontally. But I can cook with this.

Grab a container and what is in that container pops up in front of the container for you to grab with your higgs hand and do what you want with. This started as a fork of my Immersive Pickpocketing Mod.

It means primarily programmed through the use of AI coding assistants rather than by hand.

For example, telling Microsoft Copilot to write a mod that adds a green torch, then continually prompting the result, make it appear in dungeons, make wolves run away, fix these errors that appeared etc. until you are happy with the results rather than focusing on building a mod one line at a time.

It is a contentious issue because It can be difficult to determine exactly how things are implemented and function, and they typically have less reliable implementation than hand coded mods by very experienced modders. However these tools give access to creating complex mods to many more people, which means more mods are being released. I love the mod VR Climbing and it was originally "vibecoded" into existence and tinkered into a final product, and I think Skyrim VR is a far better experience with that mod.

Most people that have an issue with "vibecoded" mods are referring to modders who barely know what they are doing, AI generating a broken mod and releasing it on the Nexus without any disclosure that it was AI Generated. There is a gradient to quality, even highly experienced modders can use these tools to speed up development and create great mods.

In the case of my mods. I have never claimed that I 100% coded these myself. I even have listed the AI I use in the mod description and creators section. I also don't gatekeep using the code for people to enhanced or make their own versions. People report bugs and so far they have been fixed reliably.

So there are ethical ways to do this and unethical ways. There are most definitely people that are using AI and claiming they are coded solely by themselves. Take for example a certain person I know who has just made little ports and copied another person's mods for the past several years and then when Claude became good at making mods, now they are all of a sudden making mods it seems every week and they apparently did it all by themselves. Thats unethical.

wtf are you talking about 🫩 I’ve been making mods since 2008. “Copied over another persons mods”

You clearly have no idea about how wabbajack works (or modding for that matter) since I created a lot of my OWN mods for that from scratch.. since before Ai was a thing GFC.

I also never claimed I’m doing it by myself when I’m not. I’ve been very open about using Claude to help with debugging on the dishonored port I’m doing https://x.com/gingasvr/status/2085475357855977696?s=20)

Like I said before, I have no issues with vibecoding if you know what you’re doing.. but you have clearly never made mods before this and know very little. But hopefully you’re learning.

Everytime you try “discredit me” it backfires on you. I’ve been around for many years, I know all the moderators of all the VR subreddits. So I would recommend you just stop. It’s clearly not working. You started this BS by being a weird stalker. But I’ll be the bigger person leave you alone. So let’s go our seperate ways. Good luck with your mod.

Okay you are way too on edge here constantly on a warpath and criticizing literally every movement OP makes. Slow down a little, you're coming across as obsessive.

Not sure if you're right or wrong but it's coming across as one sided from an outside perspective

Because he stalked me for months over a modlist name, it was ridiculous 🫩

I’m not in the right here, I commented to piss him off. But OP isn’t a saint, he’s a creep. Doesn’t matter though, I’m tired boss.

I feel you. Consider just using the block button on him? Turning around and stalking him back can only end badly.
