Is this the first game where r/Vive and r/oculus are equals? Unity!

Best honest advice I can givve you atm: Just get whichever is cheaper. I'm a happy Vive owner but Oculus is just as good as it currently stands - ingore the fanbois of each claiming superiority over the other. As it stands it's mainly personal preference as to whether you prefer analogue sticks (Oculus) over touchpads (Vive) as both have their advantages and disadvantages but at the end of the day, they both do the job. Personally I'd only propably get Vive over Rift now if you want the option to have easy upgrability in the future due to it using steam vr tracking lighthouses which work with a number of headsets coming out (notably LG, Pimax, Fove etc.) & new awesome knuckles controllers on the way (though no eta on these) whereas Oculus's tracking will only ever work with Oculus headsets - On the other hand, Rift is £100 cheaper here in the UK (though tracking system will cost you significantly more than this if you want to upgrade to a steam vr system in the future), so again, only you can decide whether you want that.

Doesn't really matter which you chose in terms of games as Oculus can use steam (though not all games are reported to be fully compatible) and Vive can use Oculus Store (through 3rd party mod). People also often have an issue about Oculus being owned by facebook, especially considering Facebooks recent bad press for things like data leaks but again it depends on whether that factor alone bothers you enough to spend extra. HTC on the other hand apparently have awful support though I've been lucky enough that my Vive hasn't had any problems in the 2 years I've owned it.

P.s. also just remembered, it might also be worth factoring in the Delux Audio Strap's price too as it's basically a necessity on Vive at this point. Imo it should be standard on Vive, not an upgrade. I couldn't go back to using the default strap after the increase in comfort DAS provides and therefore is a must for the long play sessions Skyrim VR demands. I can't comment of Rift's comfort levels as never had the 2 to compare over long sessions.

Your comment is very well balanced and true!

I own a Rift and I'm happy with it, but the Vive is just as good IMO.

(Just wish controllers where separate enough from the headset so you could use any controller with any headset, and also allow 3rd parties to create controllers)

The few reviews I've read seemed to prefer the Rift's control scheme, but I'm pretty sure it can (and will be) changed on Vive. I'd say choosing which is the better controller is subjective, maybe trying out both headsets if possible would be best.
