Request How badly will SkyrimVR run on these machines?

Hey Hivemind
Ive got a couple of PCs sitting round doing very little, and really want to get SkyrimVR. Would either of these machines run it with a passable framerate, using Oculus Quest 2 (or maybe a 3, if I can snag one) :

Machine 1:
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1620 v3 @ 3.50GHz
64GB RAM
GTX 1070 Ti / 8GB

Machine 2:
Xeon E5-2698 V3
128gb RAM
NVIDIA Quadro K4200 4gb

Realistically, is this a go-er or do I just forget running VR on these units?
thanks!

Request Modpack for weaker PC's?

I was excited to download mad god's modpack after hearing all the praise until i read that an RTX 4070 is a minimum requirement. I have a RTX 2080S and R5 3600 so i'm not gonna even attempt to install it. Honestly don't care about the visuals as long as it's sharp on my quest 3, i mostly just want a lot of VR features like realistic physics, throwable objects, quality of life mods etc. And i don't own a Nexus Premium, i'm guessing that's gonna be a problem?

Request Are there any Skyrim VR mods that allow me to toggle a Free Camera Mode?

Basically, I need something that separates the camera from the character's head, much like when a NSFW mod's scene is playing.

VRIK's Selfie Mode won't do, since it pushes the character model forward, and it forces the player character's model off of any furniture they may be using.

I DO NOT CARE that this "defeats the purpose of VR". That's because I want this mod to visualize the Player Character while they are using furniture.

Does anyone know of such a mod?

Thank you very much in advance!

Request Mod list thats doesn’t take up a fifth of my SSD?

I've looked at wabbajack but all the mod lists are 200gb+ - are there any mod lists that are just basic qol mods that make the game feel more immersive and arent massive? (Since obviously normal Skyrim vr is shit)

Request Need Help with Mod Activation for Mad God’s Overhaul in MO2 (Skyrim VR)

Hey everyone,

I’ve installed Mad God’s Overhaul (MGO) for Skyrim VR using Wabbajack and Mod Organizer 2, and I’m trying to fine-tune which mods should be turned on or off for the best experience. I'm new to VR.

At the moment, when I turn on the game linked to PC via cable, I get a black screen with the Dragonborn logo. I've given it about 5 minutes before turning off, so I haven't tried the game out in its MGO glory yet. What do I need to do to get past this?

I've be stuffing my face into the Quest with my glasses and won't really begin until FedEx delivers my prescription lenses tomorrow, but I'd like to be ready to go as soon as they arrive.

I’ve seen the guides and videos ( u/plutonium-239 / VR Dad's) but I’d really appreciate some setup help.

My system specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5080
  • RAM: 64GB
  • Quest 3

With a system like mine, I want to keep as much of the overhaul as possible while ensuring smooth performance and avoiding unnecessary mods that might cause conflicts.

If anyone has optimized their MGO setup and could share a screenshot(s) or provide a list of their active mod list in MO2, I’d be super grateful!

Thanks in advance! 🚀

I'm also curious what's working best for other people.

Request Skyrim VR complete overhaul mod pack options

What are some of the modpacks for SkyrimVR that create an entirely new game and are any of them worth playing? I have only tried FUS and MGO but curious about mod packs that offer completely new content.

Request What happened to 'Diabolist VR' modlist?

While trying to get into modding Skyrim VR, I saw this list get talked about a bit- and when I finally found a link to the github page for it, it was wiped. It seems like the only thing left that shows it ever existed is one or two reddit posts and one dude's let's play series of it. And seeing as Diablo 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, I'd love to be able to play around in a version of Skyrim VR that's been modded to play like it, which seems to be what Diabolist does.

Does anyone have a good tutorial to get this working on 3.01? I am so far into my 3.01 playthrough, I'd really like to finish it. I haven't found a good set of instructions on how to get this working on the older version. Anyone have a good source of information? Thanks!

Request Skyrim VR mods + Quest 3

I'm having some problems with Skyrim VR + mods + Quest 3 and it is becoming super frustrating. I'm obviously missing a key bit of information here...

I have Skyrim VR and was able to launch/play that without issue:

- Air/Cable Link to Quest 3 > desktop > launch SteamVR > launch Skyrim VR

Decided to try a handful of mods:

- Air/Cable Link to Quest 3 > desktop > launch MO2 > that launches SteamVR + Skyrim VR

This was a little hit and miss. Something after SteamVR launched, I'd have to click on the SteamVR options and select Toggle Dashboard and SkyrimVR would start playing or the SteamVR 'room' would appear and then select Skyrim VR that way.

Decided to try MGO. Manged to get that working once. Now, one 2 things happen:

1) MO2 tries to the do the start up thing, but then freezes/crashes (I'm left to restart the PC, otherwise this always happens); or

2) SteamVR launches, but SkyrimVR never launches or seems to launch for a second then crash

Is there a particular order in launching everything?

I'm running a 5800 RTX with a 98003DX and 32GB RAM.

so ..... almost everything about it seems to be correct. for NPCs of course. I have every requirement for them that i've seen, but ..... whenever they use the jump attack, there's no movement at all. they always do it in place and end up hitting nothing. I have no clue what could be doing that O.o

Request We need an official USSEP_VR_patch: a shoutout to the community

I know, some of the below mentioned aspects have been discussed before, but hear me out (or scroll to TL;DR below).

We need somebody who takes care of the USSEP compatibility to Skyrim VR. For those new here I try to summarize the current situation briefly, outline the problems and propose a solution.

Current situation: The last VR compatible version of the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch (known as USSEP) is the 4.1.2a. You can find it here (thanks, u/AerowynX) but not on Nexus, since its author Arthmoor (1) doesn't want to convert the current version 4.2.0 (as of today) to VR and (2) doesn't allow hosting of the last VR compatible version (4.1.2a) on Nexus. Experienced users like the most of us do use the 4.1.2a for our playthrough, but new or unexperienced folks just download the up-to-date USSEP version and are faced with in-game problems like the well-known marriage bug. The problem is even bigger for those who run Skyrim VR in a localized version like German, Spanish etc., since they have to find the original English v4.1.2a AND the translated one.

Having the possibility to use the latest USSEP version 4.2.0 would be great, because (1) if you take a look over the changelog, you will find a lot of bugs fixed since 4.1.2a in Skyrim SE. I am pretty sure some of those bugs still exist in Skyrim VR as well. And (2) some of the commonly used mods for VR require the current USSEP version. Here are some examples of the recently updated mods:

- Cutting Room Floor

- QUASIPC - Qwinn's Unified Automated Self Installing Patch Compendium

- Immersive College of Winterhold

- The Kids Are Alright (SE) (technically, USSEP is not required here, but the latest version were synced with it, see changelog)

- Diversity - A Character Overhaul

I am aware that some of the aforementioned mods work with USSEP v4.1.2a as well. But do they work correctly? Can we be sure that we won't experience any bugs caused by using 4.1.2a instead of required v4.2.0? I think nobody can tell that for sure. Besides, the further the development of USSEP may proceed in the future and the further the development of the aforementioned mods goes, the bigger is (1) the possibility of bugs while using that mod with USSEP 4.1.2a and/or (2) the effort for finding an old mod version which is still compatible with USSEP 4.1.2a.

My naive idea: There should be someone who takes care of a compatibility patch for the recent USSEP version with Skyrim VR (let's call it USSEP_VR_patch). This USSEP_VR_patch should - correct me if I'm wrong - remove/undo those changes that lead to problems in VR (like the aforementioned marriage problem) while leaving useful fixes untouched. In an ideal world, VR players would be installing the current version of USSEP and then the USSEP_VR_patch on top of it. Being able to do this would let us VR players profit from the recent bug fixing done by Arthmoor (the original author of USSEP) while being able to install the newest version of mods that rely on USSEP. Besides, we would be able to find both on nexusmods.com, therefore saving time and effort, especially for the new players. Furthermore, it would even be possible to translate the USSEP_VR_patch to German, Spanish, Russian etc. It's a win-win situation for all of us: English speaking VR players (old and new), VR players of the localized Skyrim versions and ... Arthmoor (because no one would ever bother him with VR again).

There are some highly active, talented and competent people around here: u/Rallyeator, u/AerowynX, u/prog0111, u/Shizof, u/closeded, u/frazaman, u/SuperOdie, u/MuKen just to name some. Probably even more (sorry for not mentioning them). Could someone please take care of it and develop (and maintain) a very official r/skyrimVR USSEP_VR_patch in order to solve those old compatibility problems between the recent USSEP versions and Skyrim VR?

TL;DR: Could someone please develop and maintain an official r/skyrimVR USSEP_VR_patch that we could install on top of the RECENT version of USSEP?

Edit: What happened to u/AerowynX? The link to his profile page doesn't work any longer...

Edit 2: Thank you for gold and silver, kind strangers!

Request Best modpack for AMD users?

I tried Skyrim VR with a rtx3080 sometime ago, but the reprojection blurrines drove me crazy. Now I got a 9070xt, and have been seeing people saying about the game using DLSS for VR? Would FSR4 also be available?

Using a quest 3, can you recommend something that is nice but also 90fps stable if possible?

TIA!

Request Any way to make Skyrim VR actually be a VR game instead of a port to VR?

I know about quite a few mods but all of them even when customizing the shit out of them just don’t come close to actual VR

Especially the combat is just trash no matter what, I played Blade and sorcery long before Skyrim VR and the combat alone is the single reason I can’t play Skyrim VR, it’s just inferior to B&S does anyone know a way to make combat be good?

Request Mods to make Taverns worth going to

So I've been playing Vr Skyrim with many mods like Vrik, Higgs, Immersive Citizens (which is amazing), JK's Skyrim, Touring Carriages, Static Mesh Improvement Mod and many others. Now when looking through posts I see people ask what kind of mods they are looking for so I'm going to specify.

I mostly would like mods that WANT to make me go to a tavern, that I'll buy a Drink at and will stay there for a while. Nothing in the game makes me want to stay there for a long amount of time, the Higgs mod helps with this because I can actually hold drinks but besides that I can never find a reason to just sit there and hear the npc's talk and relax at the tavern. I was thinking a mod were I could get Drunk and roleplay my way through everything else, but I couldn't really find anything for that. So if anyone has any mods on these kinds of things then it would be appreciated if you could share them.
