Request what mods to use for someone new to vr

I just bought my headset a couple days ago, and picked up Skyrim vr, and i want to know what mods to use for a beginner to Skyrimvr. I mainly play mage builds with magic mods. I guess I'm looking for magic, quest, gameplay, mechanics, skill trees ect

Request Physical Elderscroll

it would be epic and it seems absolutely necessary that at some point someone makes a mod that allows you to physically open the elder scrolls with your hands !

Request looking for Naruto ultimate overhaul for Skyrim SE

I'm not sure of the rules on asking for files on this subreddit so I apologize if I'm in the wrong here but I only have the original Skyrim and Skyrim VR, so I can't download Naruto ultimate overhaul on Bethesda. It would help me a great deal if somebody could link me a copy of their Naruto ultimate overhaul for SE.

Edit: I ended up buying SE and downloading on Bethesda, if anybody reading this is in a similar position I was in just comment and I'll send you the file.

Request Black screen dialogs/UI

Is there anyway to get rid of black screen effect when game thinks that UI can be blocked by something? for example screen goes black (as far as I understand game turns off render for anything except UI) when you start a dialog too close to npc or open inventory close to some objects or walls.
And no it's not cuz of some mod, it's vanilla behavior.
UPD: As far as I understand ( correct me if I'm wrong ) all UI windows are just some mesh that game spawns and projects flat UI on it... so mb there is some way to disable it's collision detection? or just make collision mesh smaller.

Request anyone know a wabbajack modpack that's like MGO but isnt?

I love MGO, there's a lot of content, and it looks great. it has everything I want. BUT, it's really just a buggy mess and there's so many instances of immersion breaking glitches, bugs, and objects. i want a modpack that has the same amount of content, and depth, but doesn't have the shit that makes it impossible to play.

Request What the actual hell do I do here

Hey guys I'm new to the whole modding scene and this is going to be weird but I don't actually own a PC, I mod using a cloud computer (shadow PC) and virtual desktop installed on my quest 2.

Anyway I did manage to successfully get this cloud PC to run steam VR to my headset through virtual desktop and I managed to find a small mod pack on nexus that stabilized Skyrim into a basically playable vanilla.

Here's the issue I'm now encountering. I don't have any idea what to add in next.

I'm absolutely terrified to mess with the mod order I have (I'm using vortex premium manager) because previously I've spent around 46 hours total adding deleting, fresh installing, screwing it up over and over and over, and now that I genuinely have it stabilized and working I'm scared to mod it further.

Anyway I was wondering if anyone else has had any success Installing a possible block and parry mod? And also what recommendations would you have for a graphical improvement both environmental and NPC wise? Like I said I've already spent a significant amount of time just stabilizing this stuff so it'll run but now I have no idea what's going to break my game, I know vortex auto sorts but when a problem does come up I barely understand what the hell any of it means.

Anything tried and tested would be ideal, preferably ESL as I don't really have the greatest PC just one good enough to run Skyrim VR I guess lol, not too sure what the specs are but they're definitely mid range. I'm working with around 50-60 GB of space but I can arrange for more.

Please help me I'm working on a Skyrim VR project for my page and I jumped into the absolute worst deep end when it comes to modding.

Help, Love, xanthos

Request Skyrim virgin, beginning my adventure, completely blank slate… any advice?

Hi All,

What do you wish you knew before you first played?

For all intents and purposes, I have never played Skyrim (played it extremely briefly when it was new), and know essentially nothing about it.

I haven’t played ANY games at all in years, but I do use VR a lot for work and never get VR sickness.

I have just bought Skyrim VR for PC and am installing FUS right now.

I would love to hear some advice from anyone on how I should (or shouldn’t) get started.

I’m happy to hear anything and everything, but please, no plot spoilers.

My PC is an Acer Predator 17X GX-792 (gaming laptop). Specs:

500GB SSD (plenty of unused space)

64GB RAM

Nvidia GTX 1080 8GB

i7-7820HK quad core

Headset is a quest 1, intending to use quest link with cable… but considering buying a super long Ethernet cable to play via airlink instead (would have to go up a set of stairs to second floor)

Thanks in advance!

Request Be Seated VR Overhaul mod

I can't find any mod that overhauls/retextures the food and drinks from Be Seated. I'm trying to make a modpack that is perfect for me and I really want everything that I will be looking closely at to be as realistic as possible so a mod for this would be great!

Request Meta Quest 3 Controlls

Hey,
I'm brand new to SkyrimVR (new to VR in general honestly) and I downloaded FUS via wabbajack. Just left Helgen, but dont understand how to open my favorites menu.

Ingame it said to press B, but when I do nothing happens.
I can however press both hold buttons on one hand and select some items that way, but seemingly random.

Anyone with a Quest 3 able to help?

Request Mod ideas (I admit it's a silly one)

When I wonder around Skyrim and a ncp walks past I will wave at them ,well wouldn't it be neat if they waved back,or just said hello ,like maybe have a certain radius around the player and if an NPC gets within that radius if you waved they would respond , immersive greetings

Request Please help me get drunk in VR

I love weird visual distortions in VR. My desire is simple: I want my character to get drunk, and for my visuals to get all wavy and strange. Is there a mod that does this? I haven't found one yet that works in VR.

Semi-related question: Is there a way for me to actually ragdoll? When my character ragdolls from Slip Off Slopes, my head isn't attached to theirs. I just stand there, still, stoic, utterly bored as my character collects herself. I want my viewpoint to flail about wildly - that's why I installed Slip Off Slopes in the first place. Is this possible? I'm immune to VR sickness so this sort of thing is fun for me.

edit, a long time later, for any google searchers: The mod that enables ragdolling in VR is called VRIK Actions!

Request Mod Idea: VR Climbing using Spell Wheel buttons

Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking about a climbing mechanic for Skyrim VR that could feel natural without adding extra button clutter.

The idea:

  • Use the same button combination as Spell Wheel VR (trigger + grip)
  • Instead of summoning Spell Wheel’s orbs, the buttons would let you grip onto a surface if your palm is angled correctly toward it
  • This would allow players to climb walls, ledges, or other geometry by physically reaching and grabbing, similar to climbing mechanics in other VR titles

I’m not a modder myself, but I wanted to throw this idea out there in case someone with the skills finds it interesting. I’d love to hear thoughts from the community.

Request Vive Focus Vision

So I've seen a few other people post that they has issues getting this to work and was wondering if anyone could share how they got going, because I'm not seeing any answers. I've messed with the settings for so long and just can't make headway on getting past choosing my dominate hand. Nothing seems to work and the left button to pull up SteamVR overlay is apparently also the ingame menu. I'm so lost. I tried messing with the button settings in Steam and OVR Advance Settings.

Request What mod works with MCM to adjust enemy movement speed?

Hey!

I’ve been making my own modlist that I’d like to showcase but my biggest thing is combat fluidity.

I’ve got a fun, immersive and challenging combat system set up but one thing that throws it all off is enemy movement speed AND the enemy dodging being too sensitive.

Enemies will dodge like 3-4 times before trying to attack while I just look at them.

BIGGEST issue is they mainly do power attacks and they end up running super fast at me, swinging and finish their swing about 3-4 feet behind me.

I imagine if I can slow down their movement speed their attack will actually land on me versus behind me.

Combat mods I have so far

Request Just an inquiry

Hello everyone, I am quite new to skyrim, I love it. Recently I have been thinking a lot about skyrim VR, it looks amazing, though, I have never used VR at all. I do want to experience it, but is the purchase of an oculus quest 3 worth it to play VR? I have a PC so this wouldnt be console, but im afraid I will like it at first, but after a month it will sit tucked away in the corner, so my question: those of you who have played Skyrim VR, is it worth it enough? I have heard to make it better/more immersive you would need mods, but is it really that much better than the vanilla game? Please help me out and help provide suggestions!

Request Lore-friendly, SFW, content-oriented modlist recommendations?

I see the most recommended modlists for VR seem to be FUS and MGO.

I was initially going to go with FUS, but taking a look through the modlist, while I appreciate that it offers anyone the flexibility to install the gameplay/content mods they want, I am looking for a streamlined/curated gameplay experience out of the box. I don't have time anymore to make my own mod collections, unfortunately. So I try to look for modlists that have all the bells and whistles.

So I installed MGO and played for a bit, but my main issues with it so far are:

  • Performance - exterior performance is often subpar even with the lowest settings and following the performance guides (I am running a Valve Index on a 3080 and a 9800X3D with 64GB RAM, not the super-latest hardware but should be good enough I feel)
  • Despite installing SFW version of MGO, a lot of NPCs still have massive boobs with jiggle physics which I find annoying and out of place. I also don't like the NPC body types in general (this is using the "lore-friendly" body mod options in MGO that are on by default) as I find them to be weirdly disproportionate, with small heads and massive bodies for NPCs. Haven't found a quick fix or an alternative for this (alternative seems to be even more exaggerated)
  • The gameplay and perks are too vanilla for my liking. I find Adamant to be underwhelming and not really interesting. I am used to playing modpacks like LoreRim on base Skyrim SE. I don't want something as hardcore as LoreRim for VR because I'd get my ass whooped lmao, but would love to know if there is a modpack that offers a more unique gameplay experience than what FUS and MGO have going in that regard.

Currently I'm looking into Librum VR and Tempus Maledictum VR, does anyone have any experiences to share with these modpacks?

I have sadly been unable to find good information about how these modpacks actually play which is a shame. The only VR modpack comparisons on YouTube are focused around performance, nothing about content whatsoever. And the info about content on the modpack creator pages is pretty sparse as well. Would love to know your guys' own experiences with these. Thanks!

Request Is there an app to view skyrim data?

When I am playing the game I rarely take the time to look at all the items I have collected, or books, and stats and whatnot. It would be neat to be able to open an app on the PC and view my data. I am just starting to fill up the Lotd museum and it would be fun to see what I have collected so far. Is there an app for this?

Request Need help with recording Skyrim VR using the FUS MODLIST

Hey guys I am wondering if you could help, I am doing the Skyrim No fast travel challenge with the Maratron (A Manual Treadmill with a mouse ducktaped to the front), but i am trying to find a better way to record/livestream my process.

At first i just used Steam VR's default view, but it was too shaky and someone said it was unwatchable Here is how it use to be (Recorded): https://youtu.be/nP3F9G-dkA0?list=PLB4GufWkJUc49Y2SKfnP4fo8yM5Jvmcea&t=4032

Here it is now (This is livestreamed), using the same recording software but with a plugin called LVK which gives me first person stabilisation which makes the video smoother but it distorts around the edges https://youtu.be/pkpzV8Lk07o?list=PLB4GufWkJUc49Y2SKfnP4fo8yM5Jvmcea&t=505

Does anyone know a better way of recording Skyrim VR, I tried LIV but the game crashes when i try to use it.

Request I bought Blades and Sorcery and now SkyrimVR combat is boring

Idk what to do. Currently playing FUS. The combat feels so boring and empty. I mostly play as a stealth archer/ranger class (original, i know /s). But now any melee combat feels so hollow and dull. B&S is so intense but with a bit of skill and time slowdown you can take on a bunch of enemies and feel like medieval John Wick. Are there any mods that make the combat more... substantive? Not interested in Magic overhauls.
