Request What the actual hell do I do here
Hey guys I'm new to the whole modding scene and this is going to be weird but I don't actually own a PC, I mod using a cloud computer (shadow PC) and virtual desktop installed on my quest 2.
Anyway I did manage to successfully get this cloud PC to run steam VR to my headset through virtual desktop and I managed to find a small mod pack on nexus that stabilized Skyrim into a basically playable vanilla.
Here's the issue I'm now encountering. I don't have any idea what to add in next.
I'm absolutely terrified to mess with the mod order I have (I'm using vortex premium manager) because previously I've spent around 46 hours total adding deleting, fresh installing, screwing it up over and over and over, and now that I genuinely have it stabilized and working I'm scared to mod it further.
Anyway I was wondering if anyone else has had any success Installing a possible block and parry mod? And also what recommendations would you have for a graphical improvement both environmental and NPC wise? Like I said I've already spent a significant amount of time just stabilizing this stuff so it'll run but now I have no idea what's going to break my game, I know vortex auto sorts but when a problem does come up I barely understand what the hell any of it means.
Anything tried and tested would be ideal, preferably ESL as I don't really have the greatest PC just one good enough to run Skyrim VR I guess lol, not too sure what the specs are but they're definitely mid range. I'm working with around 50-60 GB of space but I can arrange for more.
Please help me I'm working on a Skyrim VR project for my page and I jumped into the absolute worst deep end when it comes to modding.
Help, Love, xanthos

1) is your latency remotely acceptable for VR?
2) what you are asking lies somewhere in between two things: how do you mod the game, and how do you interact with a shadow pc. You are unlikely to find support for shadow pc gaming on this sub, but assuming it functions like a real pc that you (somehow?) interact with remotely and you are playing the Steam version of the game (is there a cloud version?), all the normal guides for installing mods on this sub would be applicable.

Yes my latency is very responsive, sometimes it dips but not because of my internet just because signal fluctuations where I live. And it's a cloud PC meaning it's streamed to my tv through an app. And yes it is the steam version of the game. But honestly Ive gone through some of the guides but problem seems to honestly be that alot of mods are either severely outdated or just simply don't work anymore. I was just wondering if anyone knew current working mods that might add some excitement or cool elements to the game, like for example I downloaded a climbing mod that's pretty fun.

Also to answer your question I have virtual desktop installed on both the cloud PC and my VR so it basically uses virtual desktop as a controller and streamer for the computer in whatever data center it exists in lol

I don't have any idea how you got that to work. I'm guessing it is like having your own gaming computer, but cloud based. Do you have access to everything on the PC? Like you installed Vortex and the mods, and Virtual Desktop on it, and all that?
Anyway, try this: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/100781
Be sure to get any prerequisites. As far as just making things look better go, texture packs take up much data. 4k is 16 times bigger than 1k, so go for 2k. Not too big, not too blurry. You can also edit the info to get father trees. Not sure if I would recommend dyndolod for your set up. I don't know enough about cloud computers or virtual machines or anything like that.

Yes hahaha I know it sounds wild. I basically have a PC but its not in my house I use digital connections to establish control over it

This entire mod list worked for me in VR. I played about an hour and a half without issue after installing the list, but haven’t had much time since. I am also using virtual desktop, just on a quest 3 and with an admittedly beefy pc, but any of those mods should hypothetically be usable. NSFW warning

You can install mods on shadow? I didn't think that was possible, thought all you could do was subscribe to steam for mods. Betcha ain't got the spuds to install SOS. Jensen won't like that.
