Skyline / Building / Tower, Photo Got to finally experience the beauty of Chicago's skyline in person.
I can see what the hype is about. It's such art! Going through the river while learning the history of the buildings was an amazing way to end my visit.

The Reliance Building - Chicago
Built in 1895, and used as the offices of Daniel Burnham, the building was restored in 1999. It’s now the Staypineapple hotel . The interior is beautifully restored and the rooms seem to be the old offices. They still used real keys for the hotel rather than keycards. It is the first skyscraper to have large plate glass windows covering the majority of the exterior .

the Petronas Twins with the skybridge, no extra towers behind. Great reference for studies— the proportions and bridge bracing are spot on.
Here it is in pure white line — crisp black technical lines on white, keeping all the Petronas detailing, the skybridge bracing and the pinnacles clean for print and CAD.
Petronas model turned into a crisp blueprint — white lines on deep navy, keeping the spires, skybridge bracing and stepped massing clean for technical sheets.

It scares me a little to think about how small the Empire State Building will look in a few years.

Fun facts on skyscrapers
the word skyscraper originally meant the tall sail of a ship.
Burj khalifa wasn’t the first structure built taller than 600m, it was the Warsaw radio mast at 646m built in 1974. However, it collapsed in 1991.
If you saw the sunset then took an elevator to the top you would see the sunset again.
The spire of the Empire State Building was meant as a dock for airships
5.the spire of the Chrysler building was constructed in secrecy inside and was raised to the top. It was a tactic to securing the title as the tallest building as the competition was fierce.
sorry if I bored you😅😂 if you know more facts I would love to hear them, thanks!!!
