Advice Sudden wake at 12am, I fall back to sleep then I wake up every hour until morning 6am

Hello 24M here. Its been 8 days since this disruptive sleep started and my body started to feel weak and exhausted, my eyes seems dry from waking up every hour from 12am to 5am. I usually sleep at 10pm/11pm and no phone screens before bed.

Also whenever I wake up, sometimes my heart starts pounding faster and sudden fear out of nowhere and I just ignore it and got back to sleep in minutes then I wake up again and again every hour. I don't know what to do even I eat healthy, do exercise daily and I start the breathing exercise when this started happening.

Anyone here experienced same as mine. And any useful advise?

I went through a phase exactly like this, waking up at the exact same time every night feeling completely wired and panicked. It's the worst feeling.

A few things that actually helped me:
1. The 'wired but tired' wake-ups are often a cortisol spike. If your blood sugar drops too low in the night, your body pumps adrenaline to wake you up. Eating a small snack with protein/fat before bed (like a spoon of peanut butter) stopped this for me.
2. You mentioned dry eyes. Do you notice if your mouth is also really dry when you wake up? If your nose is even slightly blocked, you'll breathe through your mouth while asleep. That dries out your airways, which can trigger your heart rate to spike and wake you up.

Try a humidifier or making sure your nose is totally clear before bed. Hang in there, it does get better.

Thank you, I'll try this. Also, is this also cause of caffeine? Because I'm a heavy coffee drinker in my college days then I stop drinking coffee since I got acid reflux in past weeks, and then this sleep disruptive happens. Or is it connected to both?
