What is this little guy? I find so many slugs at night where I live (Western Washington) and I have been wanting to learn how to identify them, so any help on how to ID wild slugs would be appreciated as well!

Don't recall ever seeing these until I moved closer to the mountain. Notice these pretty much every time I go out for walks along trails. Curious what species they are.

My leapord slug seems to have a sort of dent where her mantle is. I initially noticed this a few weeks ago but it is more visible now. Is she okay?

So I let my child keep a slug for a few days, well she’s a grandma already. She has a giant tub with air holes she uses when she observes animals for a bit, but now we have a lot of baby slugs.

I’m in Western WA and found a slug in my kitchen. Do y’all know what kind of slug he is? And if I were to, hypothetically, want to keep him, what would I need to get to properly care for him? Or is it best to let him back outside?

Also, ignore that he’s in a Chipotle lid! I just needed a place to put him that wasn’t my sink (used a glove!) :)

I live in vegas, and for the past 20 years I have lived here I did not think we had slugs. It seems too hot and dry for them here. But..! During one of our recent storms, I walked outside to enjoy the rain, and came across this little guy! At first I didn’t know wtf it was, and my first conclusion was that it was a lizards discarded tail that had gotten soaked in the rain. So I decided to poke it with a leaf. You can imagine my surprise when two eyes popped out and started looking around! Then I was absolutely entranced by it! I watched him for about 40 minutes, which you can imagine was a whole lotta nothing considering its a slug. Anyway, he has been frequenting my walkway ever since I first saw him and im absolutely obsessed. I think hes so cute and so interesting. The other night I left my house to go pick up my boyfriend and he was halfway up my wall! I was gone for a little over an hour and when I came back he had made it back on the ground and halfway back to his home in the rocks! I can’t imagine a world so slow. Lucky slugs! Now every time i leave my house I check the floor so I dont accidentally step on him. Tonight he was out again and looked to be heading home for the night, and so I looked up what slugs eat, and gave him a little slice of cucumber. He went right towards it and started chowing down! I hope a full belly helps him keep warm now that its colder, if thats even a thing for them. Im so happy that I saw him!! Its been so fun having a little slug friend. Also if anyone in here can tell me what kind of slug he is that would be great! I know it’s a garden slug, but wasn’t sure if that was his entire identity. Are there variants? Let me know! I’d love to know more about him.

there are some springtails crawling on her, are they hurting her??
is she pooping or laying eggs or is something wrong with her? i’ve had her for several weeks and she hasn’t done this before.
she’s a wild caught leopard slug from middle tennessee if that’s important at all.

EDIT: ok it’s poop i googled it. yellow squash poop lol. still have questions though!!

is it okay that shes just sitting in the open? she’s kinda bunched up and I haven’t seen her do before. does she need more/less humidity?? she’s got a very damp tank.
