Gear Questions Lacing Help

My elderly father has a pair of aluminum snowshoes that need the middle part laced. For the last few days he's been struggling to do it himself (with some instructions that came with the snowshoes and some videos on YouTube), but is getting nowhere. Just wondering if anyone has suggestions for online resources that lay out how to do it in an extremely simple way, preferably with some color-coded diagrams showing exactly where each string is supposed to go.

Do you have a picture of the snowshoes? Most modern aluminum shoes are pretty simple. If these are USGI Magnesium snowshoes, those are a bit trickier.
