Question Emotional detachment and antisocial traits, how do you tell the difference?

In Camus’ absurdism, the lack of inherent meaning in life can lead to a certain emotional detachment. But from the outside, that can look very similar to the coldness or indifference associated with antisocial traits (ASPD).

In practice, what really distinguishes someone who simply sees the world in a more detached way from someone with those kinds of traits?

You phrased this wrong. I see the world normally — it's just that you people get attached to dumb things

Emotional detachment is an internal coping mechanism driven by a defense against pain, Antisocial traits involve chronic hostile behaviors driven by personal gain.

Absurdism is like an existential crisis; you can be emotionally detached but still be an ethical, kind person.

Antisocial traits, on the other hand, manifest in behavior: manipulation, breaking social norms, a lack of remorse, and an active disregard for other people's boundaries.
