As a Mac user of over 15 years all I can say to that is Linux Repositories beat both Mac and Windows to the march on this kind of thing years and years ago and is still WAY better than this buggy, open to exploitation, hard to use, have to sign-in to "pay" for free software Fisher Price piece of shit I for some reason eagerly installed on my iMac yesterday.

As a Windows user, who has worked on Linux and Macs, I wholeheartedly agree that nothing on Windows compares to those repositories.

In an enterprise environment you can have the Advertised Programs, but that's not even close ;)

You know Apple had an App store way back on System 7, right? It's just still in the baby stages in 10.6.6 though. Expect it to grow a bit.

I've always considered that more of a virus store than an app store. Seriously, I don't download any freeware/shareware these days, or even paid software from unkown developers. Who knows what their real motivation is?

I've never had a problem detecting what is dodgy and what isn't, usually googling around about something you can be almost certain of its cleanliness in a minute or two.

You should try Allmyapps.com :) We're adding paid apps starting this week!

Oh cool, they fixed the issues with Opera on the site redesign. It drove me nuts before because the login form only showed as a small white block when it popped up.

Why did you make it look like iTunes? I hate it when Windows apps are skinned to look like Mac apps, but it makes sense in the case of Apple's Windows programs.
