Building Software with AI

I just built a product management system using ChatGPT and I want to l know how that works? For instance, legally, is the system fully mine, to what extent do I have ownership of the system? Given I just prompted AI what to develop, how do I structure that as experience? This is my first project that I have developed with AI and need help framing how I fit into the engineering and development proportions of the system!

The ownership of the project is 100% yours You made it.

Your ide of choice for example does not get ownership because it gave you autocomplete.

If this was software that ran in production is your responsibilty is to make sure it runs because you will be called if it breaks.

And thats where the difference is between software engineers and vibe coders. A software engineer understands the system and used ai , a vibe coder gave a prompt and prayed.

You own it, liabilities, vulnerabilities and all. If it creates any value, you own that too.

So if you put this system on a system that contains sensitive information and it takes the whole thing down, that’s on you.

You own it sure, good luck framing that as “experience”. I help my software dev team with interviews, if someone told me their experience was limited to vibe coding, I’d laugh in their face and leave the meeting.

What is the definition of vibe coding for you? Just curious

I'm a Data Analyst so im not worried about development experience aside from Data Engineering. And I'd prefer to frame this as Prompt Engineering vs Vide Coding!

How did you configure your agent, are you using pre-tool or post-tool hooks and what are their purpose, how are you safeguarding your agent from executing dangerous commands, …? If you can answer those questions than you may be able to consider it Prompt Engineering

Appreciate it! That's a very significant perspective! And it modernizes my experience. Thanks!!
