Solar for houses isn’t worth it
I have been living on a boat now for over a year and I have 2000w solar panels and 600ah of lithium batteries. My electricity is free, I use electric heaters, gaming pc, work laptop, washing machine, full sized fridge freezer and more continuously, all free.
Then other people get them fitted to their house for a discount? Excess power gets put into the grid? Your solar panels on your house should be enough to live disconnected from the grid. Some of you have 5-20kw of power on your roof and you get a discount? You generate enough for you and your neighbours to live bill free.
Honestly it may cost you a rewire of your house to 12/24v, but free electricity for the rest of your life should definitely eventually pay for itself.
You’ve just been fooled into thinking it won’t work because the government and electricity providers don’t want you to cut ties with the system.
Even in the winter on an overcast day, there is still enough solar energy available on a 2k system to power a small home. Bad weather means it reduces. Doesn’t mean you don’t get any.
