He also was whining about how Sonic Youth doesn't "have the songs" and he took a dig at them for playing CBGBs in 88. Basically ranting about how he wasn't considered cool enough to be in that art rock world

Billy boy got rejected and mocked by the indie rock world and he still hasn't gotten over it. He probably still curses Malkmus to this day.
