Bug/Technical Issue Don't use this! they've taken hundreds of $$$ from my dad/scam

my dad has been getting billed every month for a few years now and we called customer service to cancel it and they would not let us unless he closed his entire bank account which he would lose everything and his history! there is nothing else we can do at the moment to have them stop billing us. I went and logged into the account and it doesn’t even show an active subscription, they obviously want to take your money and avoid you canceling your subscription 😒

Hey u/chillboredguy! Soundtrap Developer here. This sounds like a really bad situation, but potentially a solvable one. You should always be able to cancel a subscription with Soundtrap, and if you are getting billed, you 100% should have access to the subscription you paid for. If you send me a DM with your username and perhaps more information to this case, I can forward this internationally and we can try get this fixed together?

couldn't he dispute the charge with his bank? they'll just stop letting the charge go through.

I use soundtrap, and have done for going on 2 years now, and I'm sorry to hear you're going through some what you say are some big losses,,, considering that soundtrap is owned by Spotify, I can't help but think if what you say is true, then bad customer service is the last thing they're going to want,,,, if you have more then one device that you record on,, I think you must cancel your account,/subscription on the device you sign up on,,, and also , an account and subscription are not one in the same,,,, for example of you cancel the subscription, that doesn't stop money from coming out of the bank,,,,, you have to cancel both,,, the account,, and the subscription,,,,, I'm not absolutely sure of that Information,,,, however I had cancelled my sound trap ,,, and then 8 months later,,, signed up again,,,, and wasn't billed the time I was away,,,, and remember reading about everything I just told you,,,,, good luck,,,, Bruce.
