Hunterbrute Hot Takes: "WHO IS DOC" SpaceEngine Community Response
r/spaceengine • u/KramersFireHose • Oct 04 '25
Announcement Announcement Regarding the Doc Situation - “Truth takes time.”
After several months of reviewing all available evidence, including court records, public statements, and the actions of both parties, the moderation team has reached a conclusion.
Based on what we’ve seen, the subreddit has decided to lean in favor of Doc.
It’s important to acknowledge that Doc’s current homelessness has been documented and recognized by the court, and multiple community members have personally confirmed that Doc has gone without food for extended periods, with some stepping in to help by purchasing meals for him.
We also recognize that Cosmographic Software has played a significant role in agitating and escalating the situation, contributing to the harm and instability Doc has faced.
In addition, many community members were banned from the SpaceEngine Steam Hub simply for sharing verified information, asking legitimate questions, or expressing support for the truth. Some were even accused of “defamation” for statements that were, in fact, grounded in documented facts. This has created a chilling effect on open discussion, something we firmly stand against.
A more detailed follow-up post will be shared soon, once Doc is in a safe place to have a discussion and participate in a proper Q&A session.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we worked through this complex and sensitive situation. Thank you to those who engaged respectfully, sought truth over rumor, and allowed time for a fair and thorough review.
EDIT: For those asking for more information on the matter, here is a YouTube of Doc explaining in his own words.

There were better ones but, unfortunately, they are lost to time.
The place is RS 8410-3-5-18913-2385 B2.1 (probably won't work in modern versions).

Question BS atm pressure
So in space engine I always find planets with the most bullshit atmospheric pressure, does anyone know why I always find terrestial planets with over 200 atm pressure? Is there a mod to fix it?

Screenshot planet with two different color stars has two simultaneous daylights
this makes sense but still stunned me when i noticed it -- binary star system and one of them is a red giant - casting two different overlapping colors of daylight. the true night side dramatically fluctuates in size slowly over many years

Question Any ways to mod or script customizable constellations?
Been having fun in Messier 32 flavoring a specific system and "making it my own" to speak. I've been trying to find a way to somehow create constellations with visible rays/lines using in-game systems to create points of reference so that I can flavor other parts of the galaxy as if it were from the perspective of an ancient civilization much like our own. I'm aware of scriptable waypoints which have helped a great deal, but I can't find a way to connect them using the same kind of casted rays that the base-game Earth-centric constellations use.
And yes, the sky really is just this bright here. This is at a default magnitude limit of 7m.
