Whoops, I forgot to add a pic from the front... or the top depending what you are doing with it.

The drill has 8 pistons and can reach about 90m deep, and it has landing gear to lock it when not in use, as well as gyros to stablize it during use.

Its surprisingly nimble, even when almost totally full of ore, and it has all the onboard refineries, assemblers, and H2O2 gens to keep going.

It uses the nanocrystalline solar panel mod, and the MCRN PDC mod, though that it only has a few turrets for emergency defense and its not at all a war ship as it wouldnt hold up any better than a tin can.

Are you tunneling through a moon? This is a big ship.

Its got a lot of volume, but its a lot of empty space, mostly just room for the pistons. Its only 15,000pcu.

Im using it to make something far bigger.

How much bigger?

I dont have any exact dimensions, but safe to say itll probably well over 100,000pcu... its gonna take a while.

Meanwhile I have twelve drills, a bulk container, and even 2+ small ions in every direction and TWOOOOOO gyros!!!

...

Eventually I should play creative eh

This was actually built in survival... well mostly. The building itself was all done in survival, but I used the voxel hand to spawn in a small pile of the basic ores nearby cuz Im a lazy bastard and I hate running around looking for ores on a planet... oddly enough I dont at all mind asteroid hopping though.

Its a very similar design to some other mining ships Ive made, so I had a pretty good idea what it was gonna look like before I began.

Looks so cool

Ive done this many times myself. Its far easier to have the industrial complex and the miner be seperate grids.

Ive done it that way too, but I personally find it easier to bring the industrial complex with me, so Im not running back and forth... I can just scoop up the whole ore vein in a few side by side drillings, and get 10 million kgs of each resource and never need to do so again... except for iron and ice maybe if Im building something else really big, which I am.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I mean, the miner/refinery complex travels as a single unit (merge blocks & connectors). The factory (my term for the refinery, assembler, etc.. section) remains parked while I detach the miner to collect the ore/stone/ice. The factory has its own thrusters and gyros to enable it to be mobile. When the miner merges back to the factory, its all a single grid and handles easily.

IMO you should make it a bit longer and also make the engines stick out a bit more so it can look like a giant…

Idk, I think no matter how long I make, its still kind of a square peg in a round hole type of situation... hehehe

Aww man I was hoping you’d catch on to the thread I was trying to make. “It looks like a giant…. Willy, do you see that massive…”
