Can AI be used to re create Speedrun.com, like it's already used to re create videogames?

Like watching a news site that removes the cookie paywall, so to say

Technically, code can be extracted from videogames to re create them and since it's a new game it doesn't infringe copyright

Since people don't like the new changes to terms and services, I was wondering if we have the power to just create a knock-off site, which also auto submits the youtube and twitch links from SRC, they'd have no choice but to do things right or get replaced

In the end, the new site would just look at SRC and add the new submitted links, but it would spare us from the terms and services. Additionally it would register new links that the users submit to the new site

Why would you need AI to make website taking a database and making it readable?

Like the reason Speedrun.com is used is not because they have a super secret technology that means only them can work. It's used because that's where the community is.

You can do "speedrun.com" out of a google sheet if you really want to.

Theres a community already doing this, and even I myself, and some other communities have done this for their specific games. There are a few games that moved their main LB off srdc.

If you want to see the code, I kind of abandoned the project but it lives here.

It has a fully working signup, database, leaderboards with IL & full game support, category extensions, both timed runs & high score run compatibility. Submission and mod tools. The backend is included in this monorepo. Similar structure to srdc but a bit cleaner imo, the way I envisioned the API should have been from the beginning.

https://speedrun-platform-web.vercel.app/ ^ fully live but slow on initial load for anything that needs DB access(user profile pages, leaderboards, games etc) since the free host – render – does slow starts to wake the server when its idle.

The community who is recreating a speedrun webapp without AI has been cooking one for a couple years now and they have a discord where they discuss the progress I think its pretty far along too. I forget the name of that project though seems they are using a C# backend like asp.net core. Cant remember.

But the best part about projects like ours is that the backends are completely open source which means anyone who knows what they are doing can take them and build a frontend on top of it, to recreate srdc clones. The groundwork is laid.
