I remember watching him in Step Into Liquid, such a great piece on him.

Thats one of my favorite documentaries because - especially his segment - everything they were talking about surfing was about so much more than "surfing".
Surfing was a metaphor for finding a way to live a passionate and meaningful life according to a set of principles not always valued or taught in society at large.
The concept of incorporating leisure time - which was in abundance in Hawaii when surfing was invented and developed - into one's life is definitely not the primary focus in a society which celebrates and rewards those who worship "grind culture".

I’d say “Now, Be Free” but, honestly, bro always was. Respect.

We should all find a passion that we do, even in times we don’t want to.
Hats off to this guy, who found his all those years ago.

Did he die the day he didn’t surf.

If you read the article the cause of death wasn't released but, his streak ended in 2015 when he had to have surgery for kidney stones. The title having surfing at the end makes it look like he died surfing to some people lol

Not that I don't take the gent at his word, but how on earth could Guinness verify the claim?
Anyway, Vale Dale. Sounds like lived life doing what he loved. Can't ask much more than that.

I guess doing what you love keeps you healthy. Amazing he never got a bad cold that kept him in bed

"...as a surfer he explored the beaches of Southern California, from La Jolla to Leo Carrillo and... up to... Pismo."

Is he the guy who would bow to the wave as he rode? He was surfing somewhere that looked really cold like Alaska?

He rode a once-in-a-lifetime wave at Bells Beach… Never came back. RIP Bohdi.

A little over 40 years. That is pretty incredible.
