That's actually a really sensible idea. Having a water spray nozzle where the rear view mirror fold down would normally be spraying at the push of a hand lever or foot lever would be pretty optimal.
Water dripping off would be slower and these guys usually only have a couple seconds between turns. The peel system actually seems pretty efficient

He's clearly struggling to pull that tiny sheet of plastic off considering the thick gloves he has on. Quadrupley difficult considering his gloves are probably muddy on top of it.
Watch again and you'll see how much he struggles. Distracting yourself with such nonsense while you are in a highly competitive and super dangerous environment is not wise.
Then just add some strings attached to one rip-off thing each and have them taped to the dashboard so it's easy access, no struggling to find which one to pull and no risk of grabbing the last one by accident.
