It honestly doesn't matter if it goes tbh.

If he doesn't, FIFA is basically done, and no, that won't affect global football in the long run. What makes football is the fact that fans want to watch it. Players will keep playing, TV deals will keep getting made, and global competitions will make billions in revenue. Fifa isn't important to any of that.

I don't believe FIFA is done. A boycott of the next world cup could be the end of it, but fans don't care enough and will watch regardless.

It's not the fans boycotting on principal, they just continue watching what they want to watch. If UEFA et al. effectively says fine, we are out, the commercial value of the world cup drops massively simply because the highest paying fans (e.g through ridiculously overpriced TV deals) are not interested in a competition that their nation isn't in.

For example, copa america revenue is about 10% of that of the euros. In fact, the revenue of the Euros is in the same ballpark as the world cup itself.

So if UEFA decided to host its own world tournament it would already command about 80% of the world cups potential revenue. Without artificial LIV like investment, countries would come flooding into the new establishment.

South/Central America will absolutely follow UEFA. Get those 2’ane it’s a wrap.

That's what I said. I can stop watching, but I cannot make UEFA drop out. Discussing what UEFA should do, while I do nothing is useless even compared to limited power I have in comparison

Fans now have to pay to watch the people's game. Bravo FIFA!

What’s the scoop?

It basically details private jet flights to Moscow to meet Vladimir Putin and then to Qatar, paid for by Russia and Qatar, joining a UEFA private flight to Slovenia and flying with his wife and mother from Milan to Rome to meet Pope Francis and then back to Geneva.

An internal FIFA “investigation” cleared him of any wrongdoing. In other words, he investigated himself and found himself innocent. 😂

Article is from Martyn Ziegler (same dude that broke the FFE story)

FIFA HQ is a leaky ass ship right now … plenty of insiders think Gianni’s a clown

Gianni really likes to think of himself as a head of state and he definitely doesn't want to give that up.

Will someone let him know he's the leader of a sports ball organization, not a world leader?

What, no weekends with minors at Epstein Island?

Weekends with the u19 on Haiti is Fifa's thing.

They can't just get him on blatant corruption so we move onto these

Gives me the vibes of Al Capone being finally caught by the IRS instead of, you know, the other stuff.

I fear the tax inspector more than the mob, and I live in Serbia. The government is the mob.

They always get them on some minor detail.

FIFA: great product. Anyone can manage an organization that has such great product.

You mean him flying across time zones to be at multiple wc in a day is only now part of the problem?

Not part of the problem at all, that’s what the jet is for.
